Has anyone else had this problem? I have a 9 week old girl and up until a week ago she took her bottles well, stopping for one burp and then drinking the rest. She was drinking around 170-195mls at most bottles. She then started stopping at about 100mls and refusing to drink any more of the bottle but I was able to coax her into drinking more. Last Friday she decided she was going to drink all her bottles in two goes with about a 1 hour gap. It made it a long day. She started to come right over the weekend but has now gone back to it again. I have been told to just go with her flow but it doesn't seem normal for her to have to drink them in this way. I am worried that if I keep feeding her in this way she will get use to snacking. She usually feeds around 4 hourly and I haven't changed anything about how I feed her, it is just her that has changed. I did move her up to the bigger size teats yesterday incase she was getting frustrated with the smaller teats.
I am happy to go with the flow for a while but would like to see her drinking her bottles again properly soon
I was going to suggest a change of teats. See how that goes for a couple of days. My DD was a little lazy on the bottle so we needed to check the teats every now and again to make sure they were suitable.
Thanks, last bottle went a little better. She opens her mouth to suck, takes a couple and then tries to stop again. Did lots of gentle coaxing and she drunk almost all the bottle. Fingers crossed for next feed!!
