I took an OPK yesterday and got a line almost but not quite as dark as the control line.

took another test today and it was lot lighter..could that mean I have already ovulated.?

It could be - that is what happened to me this month - I have been advised to test every 12 hours once you get a line that is almost as dark as the control line so that you don't miss it.

I tested at 12pm one day and then evening the second day, so it is highly likely I missed the actual surge,

The OPK predicts that ovulation is coming within the next 12-36 hours so I would suggest you get bding just in case!
