Topic: TMI !!!! you have been warned LOL Posted: 23 February 2009 at 3:37pm |
I am probably looking way too much into this but was curious and cant help but ask.
Does it matter if you goto the toilet after BDing and some of the *stuff* comes out? or are you supposed to stay lying with it (as sticky and icky as it may get)
And does it make a difference if they ummm stay in you? Or pull out straight after "releasing".
Stupid questions probably i know LOL

Hmm, I am no expert on the matter but I have heard that when he ejaculates that is enough for the sperm to get to the right place. I would imagine the extra is just that, extra. Ejaculate travels at such high speeds it will get to where it is going naturally
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though

I have read that it is best not to go to the toliet after you BD because you will pee out all the sperm and that will make it harder to get pregnant

Haha nothing is TMI when it comes to a TTC forum!
Does it matter if you goto the toilet after BDing and some of the *stuff* comes out? or are you supposed to stay lying with it (as sticky and icky as it may get)
* I personally don't get up afterwards when TTC - I clean myself up with tissues and then just put my knickers back on to catch any "leaks" lol. I normally put a pillow under my hips straight afterwards aswell for 10 mins or so. My sister has been told to always empty her bladder after sex because of recurring UTI's. She asked her gp about it when ttc and she said to stay lying down for 10 mins then get up and go to the toilet.
And does it make a difference if they ummm stay in you? Or pull out straight after "releasing".
* This I have no idea about! I wouldn't imagine it would matter though?

Lots of people suggest lying with your legs up a wall after for like 20-30 mins just to give the swimmers the best chance of getting where they need to go.
I vouch for this and as you can see my result is over a year old now

Well, when we were TTC, I'd try to put a pillow under my hips afterwards and would often fall asleep like that. Occasionally I'd lie with my feet up the headboard too.
I'm not sure if it made any difference, but we must've done something right!

I stayed lying down with my hips elevated for 10 mins or so trying not to let anything come out.

This is what I've heard too...
Hmmmm ok, am I the only one that never leaks after?!?
I can get up and walk around and sit down and watch tv and nothing ever leaks out lol, it comes out when I go to the loo though.
Do I have freakishly strong muscles down there?
(Never get 'stained' sheets either )

I've heard that any sperm that are going to make it into the uterus will have done so within 20 mins - anything that 'leaks' isn't extra as such, just those that went in the wrong direction etc! Apparently only a small percentage make it into the uterus anyway, and even fewer make it to a fallopian tube, and only half of those go to the correct tube!
Wishin, re not leaking - how's this for strange: sometimes I leak, sometimes like you - nothing. I've even asked DH if he was faking but he swears he wasn't.

Lol, my DP doesn't fake... cos it's always there when I go to the loo.... but it's like my muscles are so tight or something that nothing escapes unless I choose it to LOL!

Lol Ladies thanks for your input!! I love that i got feedback so fast aswel lol! Ive had times where nothing leaks and times when it does haha but maybe that has something to do with the size of their "load" ?? I think i will do the hips elevated thing though coz seems it has worked for a few of you!

LMAO you ladies are so funny! Never did i think I would ever discuss this
I always have a pillow under my hips too to help "assist" things. I stay there for at least hour hour to hour to be sure.... anything helps!

Hehe, I used to lie on my back and hug my knees for 20 mins then go to the loo so I didn't get a bladder infection. Did the trick
Ummmm, I think we 'stayed together' for about 5 mins or so?? Man, it's been a while...
GOOD LUCK WITH MAKING A BABY!!!!!!

My FA specialist backs up what Hope2be said, that as long as the male ejaculates that will get the sperm to where it needs to be.
You should go to the loo afterwards to avoid a UTI.

I go to the loo afterwards every time, I just can't seem to not, and there's plenty of excess. I have heard the advice about UTIs as well.

We kind of "lie together" for about 5 minutes afterwards (or until it falls out )...then we both get up and get cleaned up. It obviously worked for me

Well I read somewhere you're supposed to put your legs up in the air (like when you do 'candlstands" as a kid) and then move your legs in a cycling motion to help mover everything down.
Everytime I try this DP wets himself laughing and pushes me over.
But other than that I usually jump up and go straight to the loo due to horrendous UTI's over the years.
Still waiting to get BFP though so can't say if it's worked or not.

I have been reading somewhere that staying for at least 20mins with pillow under hips etc, letting him stay in until he soft so it doesnt work like a plunger when still hard and if at all poss having a 2hour nap afterwards......
They also say to stay as still as poss so your muscles dont contract and push the fluid south and to try to not laugh or cough etc as well.
I also watched a documentary once about the human body that said the fluid (sperm)is designed to stay thick enough to give the swimmers a chance to make it through the suicide course and then after 15mins it breaks down and will then head south. The fluid is just a transporting tool for the tadpoles
Ive been laying there for at least 40mins with pillow under hips (i put tv on so i not getting bored) just get a towel up between my legs to make sure i dont lose a drop and if i can just stay in bed for the night.........So because of this i am really tired because im having much later nights than i would normally. Oh and I hug my legs cos i just couldnt have my legs that high for so long.......and cant put on wall as i wouldnt be able to see TV...LOL
And since doing all of this i dont have as much escaping afterwards.......but when not in fertile zone, a i get a good blob that comes out if i stand up right after and go to the loo for clean up on isle 9

I think it really makes no difference if you go to the toilet straight after, as ee and Penis come/go from two different holes (so to speak), and the urethra's diameter is not wide enough to impede on your vaginal walls when urinating. They say to use gravity to your advantage, so having your pelvis tilted by using a pillow or something, however I'm sure it'll make little difference as ultimately it is the sperm, the medium they're swimming through, and timing.
