Any idea how to keep the covers on a squirming one year old at night? We have a couple of sleepysacks that go over Andrew's pj's, but they don't keep his arms warm. We can't keep him covered up and the alternative is going to be keeping a heater on in his room all night (which aside from the safety concerns I have, led to a $500 a month power bill last year when he was born in winter!).
I'm also having trouble keeping socks and shoes on him during the day - he's a little Houdini and takes them off!
LOL - you just reminded me - hubby dressed him yesterday morning and must have been feeling the cold - he had put a singlet, long sleeve all in one t-shirt, skivvy and then jumper on the top - all with a pair of shorts and no socks!
But good plan - will put a skivvy on him tonight under his sleepy sack.
farmers had fleece alln ones with feet which were quite cheap.other ladies i no of dress their babes in longsleeve skivy bodysuit,pj pants(the ones with feet) and then the fleece all in one.i habve a sleeveless sleepsack but Harmony rolls over onto her tummy and she got pisst off with the sack so i havent used t one full night grrrrr cost 30 bucks too
i have for james a tigger sleep suit with arms use with pjs underneath keeps him lovey and wram i hear u about thepower bill ours was huge when james was born
we have a 5 fin oil heater in jack's room which is on thermostat pretty much constantly...our power bill is $130-$160/mth which i thought was pretty good.
jack is a wee houdini as well, i never bother making his cot, just put the duvet over him when we go to bed. it's usually off him again by the time i get him up in the morn
We had one of our three fin heaters on in his room last night and it worked wonderfully - had it on half heat just to take the chill off the room and he was toasty warm and slept in a little later. I've got a couple of fleecy sleepy suits for him - but the wee turnip wakes himself up through the night when he gets both feet stuck down one side....I'm telling you, he has a career in magic etc waiting for him...
What about using a long sleeve woolen singlet under the sleepy sack. Merino wool is noce and warm, and then is a lady who sells pure merino wool singlets on trademe for a reasonable price.
Just bought another great sleepy sack - quilted blanket type - $24.95 at The Baby Factory - he can wear his normal jammies underneath and stay plenty warm.
