so second (third fourth etc )time mums..who have done it and lived to tell the tale...what , if any , differences did you notice between your first pregnancies and your second ...did you get any different pains second time round , were you more aware of your uterus stretching, did you feel movements earlier, how early did you start showing ???

one of the reasons i ask is I have a sort of heavyish feeling on my pubic bone area, it doesnt hurt and it isn't crampy , but I did look it up and a few sites say its quite common to get in subsequent pregnancies, a heavier feeling down there....

Do tell !

I definitely felt different second time around, particularly the heavyish feeling you mentioned..and later on it felt like she was really knocking at the door! Definitely started to show a bump sooner.

Also, after the birth the crampy feeling of the uterus contracting was much stronger which the midwife assured me is normal for second births etc cause it's much bigger so has to work harder to get back to normal size..

LOL, good luck with that Kelly!

I've definitely started showing...already I was early last time but not this early and I can feel my uterus (heavy is a good way of describing it).  Not very far along yet tho so no idea what else this pregnancy has instore for me.

kelly all my pregnancies were different. josh was a cruisy one had nothing etc.... Brooke I got that heavy feeling, morning sickness, Uti's, she kicked me to kingdom come (and haven't stopped since) I felt her kick around 13/14 weeks (Josh was around 22 weeks) Rhyleys 2 was ok but I developped GD, had the most sore ribs (breeched baby) and swelled up alot... But also all three births were different... josh was very long, ehausting and he got stuck on pelvic bone due to been posterier trying to turn in birth canal, Brookes birth was a dream birth 2 pushes and she was out (and she was kicking al the way LOL) and Rhylz well he was a ceasar so different again...

Be interesting for the next one what it will be like
Ann

I feel the uterus stretching in the first trimester, more with each subsequent pg. I seem to show roughly about the same time each time. And I craved different things with each one.

Josh I felt him earlier, felt everything stretching earlier. And I so second the cramping of the uterus as well after birth.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Evening, from what I can remeber with my first I didnt know the difference no morning sickness or anything and shaped like a barrel,My longest labour and birth about 16hours... 8lb 6oz

My second pregnancy was straight after the first and I didnt really get my baby bump down much before it started blowing up again with a more out the front tummy had a throbbing heavy feeling around my pubic area in the 1st tri settled in the 2nd tri and returned with a vengance in the 3rd tri felt the quickening around 14 wks, however she moved around and kicked so much I was sure I was having a boy but no another girl.. Labour and birth about 8 hours...8lb 13oz

My 3rd pregnancy was similar to my 2nd but I got a very bad crater face and I had so many volcanoe's on my face and neck it was not funnyno morning sicknes & felt quickening around 14wks, thought again I was having a boy, had another girl...8lb 6oz...Labour and birth about 5 hours

My 4th pregnancy was pretty good no morning sickness & started showing at about 8wks scan revealed twins but only 1 fetal pole the other absorbed back into me I had a very tidy beachball looking bump and quite high and out front felt movements around 14wks, pregnancy was straight forward until I got to around 34-35wks when I measured to large for dates so I went for a scan and scan showed baby was IUGR, I once again thort it was a boy but no another girl..Had a 1 hour and a half  labour and delivery with the help of oxytocin....6lb 7oz

My 5th pregnancy was fine no morning sickness started showing at about 2-3 mths pregnant felt movements around 14wks, no morning sickness but got mega pimples on my back and I again thort it was a boy, but no another girl, LOL..6 hour labour and delivery... 8lb 9oz

My 6th pregnancy was 6weeks after my 5th DD was born and I started showing at around about 3mths, still no morning sickness alittle bit of pimples and a huge belly felt movements around 13wks, was told boy at 1st scan and girl at second got severe SPD from about 28wks onwards very heavy feeling around my pubic area from about the 2nd tri onwards. Had a 1hour 55min labour from 1st contraction to delivering her...girl 8lb 10oz

This pregnancy I got morning sickness in 1st tri thru to about the middle of the 2nd tri, very dry hands but my facial skin was very nice felt 1st movements about 13 wks, Had the heavy feeling in my pubic area only till about 5 mths got a kind of a watermellon shaped high tummy, thought this was a boy and Im finally right, LOL

With each pregnancy your ligaments stretch and usually they wont go back into place properly like before, I've noticed with my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th pregnancies I had alot of the similar feelings with the heavyness and kind of throb like feelings in my pubic area. Because I go overdue I have been induced with all my pregnancies in one way or another, Im hoping my little man will be different and come a little early or on time... We shall see...With 2nd and subsequent pregnancies bubba wont usually fully engage until labour is established, bubs will drop but apparently they wont engage properly like how our 1st babies did....But in saying that everyone and every pregnancy is different...

I have found that aches and pains started sooner, so pubic bone pain etc that I didn't get till the later stages with Spencer turned up pretty early this time around. I showed quicker, around 10 weeks this time, was about 14 with Spencer. I'm much bigger than with Spencer too and this time I can see my belly jump with the kicks and DH has been able to feel more movements too, even though it doesn't feel like he is any more active than Spencer was. I also felt movements earlier this time, maybe more tuned in to what they feel like?

Surprisingly though my pelvic floor seems to be stronger as I have had no sneezing accidents this time

With my first two I had high blood pressure and they were born on time. There was a definite difference of feelings down there between Conor and Nyah.

With Cooper, I started showing sooner, my blood pressure was perfect but I had more aches and pains throughout my body.. oh and he was a week earlier and lighter than the other two.
