Hi there, can anyone recommend any great products to use for a new baby with sensitive skin etc. I know the usual products, but was hoping for something very natural - I guess there are some smaller brands out there I might not have heard of.

we still dont use anything unless Tom is really dirty.  Just water and a couple of squirts of johnsons bedtime bath (to make the water smell nice and give bubbles).  If I do use something I quite like the Simunovich Estate Olive range but I dont think they are specific for sensitive skin...just lovely to use.

Water is pretty good just as it is.

Chloe gets a lot of excema (sp)... so we usually don't use anything in her bath. Sometimes if she is extra grubby we put some Johnson's baby bedtime bath in. We always cover her in fatty lemnis cream after her baths to stop her getting itchy skin as well.

Sometimes I put the Weleda Calendula Oil in the bath or massage it on her, but only if she doesn't have any excema at the time. It smells really nice and helps clear up rashy or dry patches.

The Mustela range is lovely and really gentle. You can get it at pharmacies. Smells delicious as well!

Luke was the same i decided not to use anything from johnson's or mustela as they have lots of chemicals and detergents in them .
I found a great product called made4baby.
They have a website www.made4baby.co.nz

Excellent stuff all natural no parabens or any crap!!

They have agreat sleep tight massage oil too, all over body lotion and a body wash.

I still use the products on Luke. It's new company but growing all the time. check out their website for stockists.

Interesting that a few of you with sensitive skin bubs use the Johnson bedtime bath coz it's one of the most perfumed ones in their range.

I use a couple of squirts of Soothing Naturals in Chiara's bath and nothing in the big girls bath coz the three of them all get exczema, especially Maya and Mercedes.

A lot of people seem to like the Ecostore stuff too.

It IS weird, but out of all of the products we have tried, that one is one of the least likely to make her get rashy. We only use it about twice a month though, normally she has nothing in her bath, or about once a week, the calendula oil. I don't like using that as much though, because she has so much hair and it makes it all greasy. If Chloe had less hair I would probably use it more often

My DD1 was really bad with eczema and allergies - we used nothing in her bath when she was a baby. However her eczema was extreme and so we were told to start using the aqueise (sorry spelling is bad) cream or other prescribed moisturiser as soap.

We were also told to stay right away from J&J.

Now she is older again we use Aveeno for sensitive skin. It's great and seems to work.

Hope that helps.

I just posted this in the product reviews thread (about the sunscreen) but I just ordered some stuff from BabyBaby and - typical - get a great special offer in the email too late for me to benefit from it, but some of you might be able to. They have some lovely looking natural stuff, I can't personally recommend it yet as we haven't used it, but have heard good things about it.

Order it direct, not from TradeMe - I saw sunscreen on TM with a buy now price of $34 when it's $17 direct

Choose any FIVE BabyBaby Skin Care items from the list below and pay just $50.00. That is a saving of $34.75 Choose your five items, enter the code Five in the voucher section of our online order form and save $34.75 in our spring time five for five sale!
Sunscreen, Cleansing Body Wash, Gentle Shampoo, Natural Conditioner, Moisturising Body Lotion, Barrier Nappy Rash Cream, Soothing Body Powder
Offer ends 31/10/08
