Ok so, Im still getting my head around this charting business . Ive almost finished reading through FF's lessons which have been a huge help understanding everything. But I've got some q's that I havent found the answer to yet. Any advice from you ladies is greatly appreciated

1. Do I temp while I have AF? Does it matter either way?
2. Does Nurofen and Panadol affect your temps? Should I note them on FF?

This is my first month off the pill and Im on CD 18. Today I started spotting (sorry TMI ahead), a brown/clear mucus. Here is my chart which may help as I am still getting familiar with it and appreciate your comments and advice.

I am not sure when/if I have ovulated and I think that FF hasnt detected it because I started temping mid-cycle.
We havent had any unprotected sex since coming off the pill, so not pg. Could the spotting be from my body adjusting from coming off the pill?

Not so sure about the spotting v Pill thing (it's been soooooo long since I was on the BCP I can't remember what happened!) but as for the temping questions, this is how I understand it:

It is personal choice whether you temp during AF or not - temps are likely to be a bit erratic during this stage as hormone levels settle back to pre-ov range. Personally I don't temp at this time, but I temp vaginally (orally just wasn't working, I'm an open mouth breather... 'nother story entirely! ) and I treat it as a nice wee break from the early morning beep, beep, beep!

As for Nurofen and Panadol, from what I know they're analgesics and one of their properties is to reduce fever so they may well have a influence on temps... but in saying that if I do have to take something I just mark it on my chart in the notes so that if a 'blip' in temp needs possible explanation, well that could be it.

It is thought that neurofen can interfere with implantation so its best not to take it while ttc. I only take it if I have really bad period pain in the first couple of days of AF.

Hehe yep Angie your wee novel did help. Thank you . My first Chart has (what I think) bizzare temps on CD 15, 16 and 17. I expected them to be much higher?? Having said that I am not too sure what to expect just yet.

Im kinda pleased AF has shown her ugly face now because that means we can start ttc earlier than planned. Yay, very excited.

Vanillabean thanks for that. I knew panadol kept your temps down but didnt realise Neurofen did as well. And I'll definitely be limiting my intake now re the implantation. Thanks for that wee tip .

I kept temping through AF, but more for continuity.. so I didnt get out of the habit. The only time I didnt temp was if I had alcohol the night before...

Being your first cycle off the pill, you may be regulating a bit. Yah for getting to start TTC earlier.

Thanks melnel. I have decided I will keep temping through af as well for the same reason. I would just be my luck I'd get into a bad habit or forget

Hehe yes it is very exciting . Have almost started a timetable for DH so he knows when we need to BD lol!!
