Topic: Did your AF come back regular? Posted: 16 May 2008 at 8:48pm |
Hi
My AF was always very regular (28 day cycle) before having my little man.
I got my AF back for the first time last month, but have not had it again - its now been 5 weeks.
Just wondering, if you were regular before having a baby, were you then regular after having baby or can it take a while?
I know everyone is different....

Mines not regular at all, I've had it once since I started dropping daytime boobie feeds and that was eons ago! (almost 2 months now) I feel like it's coming back as I've been having some wicked tummy cramps etc but those have been going on for days, so who knows

I started charting when mine came back and I'm on day 17 and no sign of ovulation so I would say mine isn't going to be regular for a while. It was like clockwork before.

Mine started fairly regularly (I'd had 3 cycles maybe) and then the last one was a 45-day cycle. I have no idea when to expect the next one...

Bugger...I'd like to start charting mine too....
I also had no sign of ovulation (I normally get ovulation pain).

Nikki it might be worth charting anyway, as you might not feel ov pains anymore (although I think I've heard you're more likely to feel them after having a baby than before ).

I still haven't got mine back and I was like clock work before getting pregnant, and I am talking like down to the day and even to the hour!

I used to be as regular as clock work too. Mine came back last month and I am on day 28 now with no signs... But then we are ttc#2 so I'm hoping it doesn't arrive :)

I seem to have gone onto a "standard" 28 day cycle after bubs .. before her it varied .. go figure.
I wouldnt know how to start charting to find out if Im ovulating or not

Nikki, I got mine back the first time around 8 weeks and then waited 6 weeks for another... it has been regular since then, but was on BCP - now have stopped that too and it is regular still...

I found after having my first baby I wasn't regular at all (after always being so regular pre-baby) and would spot for a few days every couple of weeks! The only way I stopped that and got my AF back regularly was to go back on the pill after weaning Rico at 11 months.

I only had 3-4 periods ever before I had Jack and have had one plus spotting (that was perfect time for implantation spotting) and that's it. Bobbie - where did you get your BBT thermometer from?

I'm not a good one to talk. I have only had one since Tom so not being regular can mean something else

Ummm. So it looks like I might have to be a bit patient
It certainly makes it a bit more difficult TTC for baby #2 though!
Thanks ladies

I had a 31 day cycle before kiddies. After Hannah it came back at 2mos, completely skipped 3mos, came back regular for 4mos onwards. Stayed at about 30 days, still quite regular. No issues with skipping since then (except for being pg of course) but I'm now a very regular 28 dayer.
