Ok so in January when I was still with Sam's dad, we had unprotected sex around New Years. My period which was due a couple of weeks after that was about a week and a half late. In that time I took a pregnancy test which was negative.   So I assumed I was not pregnant. I got my period and it was fairly normal, if not a bit lighter.

Fast forward nearly four months later and I've had a period every month since January.   Yet..

My boobs have grown
Feeling a bit sick on and off for a couple of months (put it down to stress)
Really really tired
My abdomen has started to swell
My face is glowing and my hair is really really good
Weird taste in my mouth recently
Hormones in overdrive (crying at stupid stuff)
Lost my appetite
Really thirsty
Peeing lots

But the really really weird thing is..

I can feel a baby moving!!! It's the first movement flutters and bubbles and they've been going on for a couple of days now. Now I've been pregnant before and there is no mistaking what this feels like.

I mentioned it to my mum and she said she noticed that my stomach looked a funny shape a couple of days ago.

I took a pregnancy test this afternoon and it was negative!

Is this a phantom pregnancy?   I'm definitely going to get a blood test either tomorrow or friday cause I am starting to think that I'm going mad!

If I was pregnant I would be about 17-18 weeks along.

Thanks all!

Side note: If I am pregnant.. YAY!

Weird. I don't know what to say.
So your periods have been normal and coming when they're due since January?

PS:Don't forget Friday is a public holiay.

How bizarre! Wow! Can't wait to hear what the doc says! Altho if a HPT is negative and you'd be that far along I guess it's pretty reliable...

Lol, I feel babies moving in my tummy a lot. It is the weirdest thing because I know there is no way I'm preggers and its probably just gas or something bouncing around
Seriously though, I've heard that you can get negs on tests once you pass the first trimester, something to do with the HCG's dropping off I think. I'm remembering very old vague information here, so I might be talking rubbish, sorry!
Good luck for the blood tests, I hope you get a bfp if that's what you want! (How awesome to find out once you're past the uncertain stage!)

Let us know your results

That an old wives tale Mel, your hCG levels do drop after 12 weeks or so, but they plateau at between 10,000 and 100,000 on average and most HPTs can pick up from 25.

Yeah, every single month, on time. My step-sister told me today that she had her period for the first four months with her son!

I really have no idea what is making those flutters if it isn't a baby!

That would be cool. With regards the flutters, I was feeling that when I was only about 5wks pregnant.....and the little clump of cells wouldnt have even had limbs yet it felt EXACTLY like a baby!!

I had something similar to this but I had no period for over 6 months, thought I felt flutters, but it was all in head, because I went and saw a midwife, because I assumed I was pregnant, she had a listen with the heart monitor.... nothing. Had a blood test.... NOT PREGNANT. Felt sad but relieved. My period then start few weeks later, few months after that I was pregnant

After my termination I had some sort of 'phantom pregnancy' whereby my mind played tricks on me.

Baby kicking feels the same as gas.

I've had the same thing a couple of times. Baby flutters, feeling nautious, gaining weight, weak bladder etc - no pregnancy!

I put the symptoms together and thought I was pregnant but it turns out I wasn't either time. Each thing was actually unrelated to the other. On my part it was probably a lot to do with wishful thinking too.

You can get your period during pg, a friend of mine with her first didn't know she was pg till she was in labour, and with the 2nd not until she was 5 months along. So it is possible!

Well, I still have no idea what is going on in there.

I got my period today while at the doctors. Urine test was negative so I've had a blood test.

I'm starting to think more and more that I'm not pregnant and I'm just really pre-menstrually bloated and the 'fluttering' is just gas.

But I 'feel' pregnant, if you know what I mean.

Weird. Will see when the results come in!

I've lost a lot of weight lately and I can't shift it from my stomach, it looks really pregnant which is strange.

I find that I gain weight around my belly area much easier now since I had Michaela - there's extra skin there for the fat to fill, same goes for boobs.

There are other symptoms that can be explained away easily too.

Stress
Feeling a bit sick on and off for a couple of months
Really really tired
Hormones in overdrive (crying at stupid stuff)
Lost my appetite

heat, busy, running around after little guy
Really thirsty

drinking lots because of the above
Peeing lots
