You would think after using cloth full time for over a year I would be sorted, but no...nothing works for us at night, no matter what i use he leaks everywhere. I know he is a really heavy wetter at night but something has to work for us. I have even been using sposies at night, and he overflows through them (huggies) I need some ideas. I know he sleeps for a long period at night, 6.15pm to 7.30am, but something has to last. I also can't afford to keep buying things to try that don't work, don't mind spending the $$ if it will last though......HELP

Daniel is a super pee'er and these are the 2 combos that work for us:
One of my naps stuffed with a micro/hemp trifold and 2, 2 layer hemp trifolds. That lasts 13 odd hours.
And when DH is getting him ready for bed he uses that combo in any nap and then shoves a woolen soaker over top.
Sometimes if I know he's had tons to drink in the avo I add an extra hemp booster to that. Makes for a big nap but it works.

that sounds about what i use and he still wets through, I have to admit atleast with the woolen soaker its only his pjs that get wet, its nice and dry next to his skin, but still a pain...I would prefer no leaking...and it's not just a little bit, its heaps,,,

Hmmmm, have you tried bamboo? It's apparently more absorbent than hemp.. if you dont have any maybe see if you can borrow a couple of inserts from someone on here and try them for a night?

is he leaking cause there is too much stuffing and you have gaping? do you use the same size pocket for day as night? would something with leak guards help perhaps?

Are the leaks caused by him wetting through all the inserts, or is it because the nappy is leaking somewhere? If all the inserts are soaked right through then you just have a super wetter! If they're not soaked through the leak could be caused do to over-stuffing, or because of pressure wicking from his pjs? I can't put Leo in cotton pj pants otherwise he gets pressure wicking and wakes up with wet pants. It was OK when he was younger because I used a Grobag so he never needed pants, but now that he's not using one any more I need something on his bottom half to keep his legs warm in the cooler weather. I've found that the fleece all-in-one suits in JKs work well and helps keep him dry. Otherwise I've also just bought a pair of polyprop pants from the Warehouse and although they get a little damp they seem to work kind of like wool and don't wet his bed or get cold. I'm in the process of knitting him some wool longies so hopefully they'll do the trick!
I also saw that Green Beans were taking pre-orders for bamboo fleece which they are getting in next month. It's $16 per metre but if you know anyone with a sewing machine it might be worth a try! The only bamboo I've used is the inserts that are in the D'lish's and after a few washes they're heaps more absorbant than microfibre.

Jack went through a very similar thing at that age and nothing I did worked. In the end I just put a pair of plastic PVC overpants on him and that contained the wees. He did grow out of it tho

Natalie - I have a large Huggle fitted nappy (terry) & Motherease Rikki wrap (PUL) if you'd like to give them a go? I bought them both pre-loved from TM a few weeks ago but haven't really got around to giving them a go yet. The Huggle is bulky & slow drying but they get raved about in the UK for heavy wetters as they also have a pocket to allow for extra stuffing, plus you could add extra absorbancy between the nappy & the wrap. You're welcome to give them a go if you think it's worth a shot?
Here's a link for info on the Huggle http://www.babykind.co.uk/huggles.htm

Hannah would wet through anything (sposies didn't have a hope in hell) and in the end it was only a designer bums cover that helped - my guess is that a woollen soaker would be similar but obviously you have tried that!
Is yours lanolised?
My only other advice is to make sure the fleece is wicking properly.
Sucks huh? I haaaaaated it. She eventually stopped wetting so much and ended up being dry soon after though... so here's hoping!

I don't think its over stuffing as there is no gaping, it is just a whole lot of wee as all the inserts are sodden, honestly i don't know where it all comes from, but he has been a huge night wee boy since day one....it's just such a pain in the a** having soaking wet pjs and sheets each morning, and now is colder i don't want leaks all over my nice new merino sleep sack....

Hmmmm, I'm stumped too! When I wasn't so lazy we used to use Ecobubs wool pockets at night stuffed with a flat and a hemp/microfibre trifold, maybe that plus a soaker would work? I have one I can lend you if you want to give it a go?

Thanks Emma, I have a wool pocket...It probably leaks the least out of all my stash...I am wondering if I should get some nice woolen longies to go over the soaker instead of pjs, then I would just have a wet sheet if he leaked,

Could be an idea. And if they are lanolised, they might even stop the leaks.
