at my last scan on thursday we were told that theyc ouldnt see twin A's(the smaller twin) heart properly for the second time in a row and they are concerned something is wrong with her heart. they seem to think that her heart valves dont cross properly and they have reffered me to auckland peadiartric cariologist which i should i hear from early in the week and will most likely being going up to auckland in the next couple of weeks.

has any one been told that some has been wrong with their babies heart and everything has turned out fin? or not so fine?

Tashzmum hugs. that must have been some scarey news to hear.
I haven't any experience with it myself on the pregnancy side but on the other side I worked in an orphage and experienced a few heart babies. You would be surprised at how resilent and how much Dr. can do to help a baby to recover to full health.
I really pray that your baby is all well though.

Yep Holly, Andrew's heart wasn't the best at the 20 week scan. At 28 weeks it was all good. Janine (mum2paris) also had a baby with a heart problem (Paris I think), have a talk to her.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

We were told at 20 weeks there was something wrong, had a detailed heart scan at 27 weeks where all was fine. Was then told at 38 weeks there was something wrong too, to be told a few days later it was probably fine. He got checked when he was born and at 2 days and he's absolutely fine. I would tell you not to stress, but I know that's definitely easier said than done, and the only thing is don't believe anything 100% until she's out in the real world and they can scan her without having to go through you.

We didn't have heart probs but we did have a kidney prob picked up at about 33 weeks and I agree with Emz, don't believe anything till they're out in the real world.

I have a friend who was told while pregnant her baby had a whole in his heart. They then admitted they couldn't see things properly and said it was fine and then once again said there's definitely something wrong.
But once he was born everything was perfectly normal. So I have to agree, try not to worry about it too much as I guess the scans don't always pick everything up clearly.
Let us know how you go with the specialist

thanks ladies. its good to hear everyones babies turned out ok, but a bit worrying the hosps keep getting things wrong.

the big thing is that they cant actually get a clear enough view to tell for sure at this stage. and 3 different people tried!!i guess we might know more after we see the specialist.
