Topic: Leaky nappies Posted: 17 January 2008 at 2:59pm |
I am a new mum, my baby girl Alani is 8 weeks old. I want to ask you if you also have problems with leaky nappies. I am using huggies newborn, just about to change to the infant size, but almost every day with the dirty nappies, we have huge leaks, either on tummy, back or down the legs. And don't believe I let her be in the dirty nappy for ages. I hear her doing poos and change her right away.

I had a similar problem and just went up to the infant size and the leaks stopped.

All the babies in my coffee group moved to the larger size well before the recommended 5kg mark! Definitely try the next size up!
And welcome to OhBaby!!!

Yep Huggies are on the small size, its definatley time to move up a size. Isla never fitter newborn size huggies, they cut into her legs something awful, but was fine with newborn size giggles or treasures ultra.
Welcome to Oh baby!

I use dryups - you buy them on line, they are cheaper and have never leaked like huggies leaked for us.

Yep, this happened to us too..Normally up her back (ewwww) Sometimes at night even her number ones escaped and soaked her through *sigh* so we moved upto the bigger size a few weeks back and so far *fingers crossed* all is good on the leakage side of things!!!

happened to us with huggies, but we found treasures a better fit, they alot wider, but in saying that the cheaper ones are jsut as great and had no issues with boo in them
over here ive found homebrand to be the only ones wide enough and non leaking so price def pays no part in quality
welcome to ohbaby

We hated the huggies newborn. I was given some in hospital and it was major leaks (especially at night). At the moment we are using Treasures. When we run out I will be giving Cosies a try. My Aunty gave me 350 Cosies nappies as a gift, I hope they fit, if they don't I will be selling them.
I am using a NB sized waterproof over nap, tried it out for the first time last night, and wow... Phoenix slept from 1.30pm til 7.00am and I couldn't feel any leaks.
Fingers crossed eh? Good luck.
