Topic: Cramping (possible TMI) Posted: 15 January 2008 at 11:13am |
So I've had what feels like period pain since 8pm last night. It's constant, so I don't think it's contraction related.
Is this normal?
Also, for the last few days I'm having to wear maternity pads because of huge amounts of excess vaginal fluids.
My 12 and 20 week scans show my EDD as the 21st. My LMP has me at the 27th, so I guess it could be any time.
Just wondering what opinions/experiences on this are

Definately call your midwife / OB sounds like thins could well be gettin started...the fluid sounds like it could be your waters in which case you're LMC needs to know and examine you.
All the best!!!

Hiya Charly
I have had the excess fluid too, watery rather than normal discharge (another TMI! ). Not enough to fill up a pad though so I am sure its not waters. I havent had any constant pain, more on and off and usually in the early evening. Hopefully something is starting to happen for you!! Good luck!!

I would check with your mw as well, just to make sure your waters arent leaking slowly. Good luck, hope things happen for you soon.

Thats exactly how my labour started, Saturday morning 8am I got massive period like pains, by 9pm that night I was in full blown labour, then had Lauren at 3:15pm the next day!
Definately sounds like something is happening for you!

Thanks ladies
The only thing that puts me off getting excited is that she's still really squirmy.
A lot of people (including my mw) say they slow right down before labour starts...

Oooo hope things are happening Charly!
Maybe the leaking has something to do with the EPO or increased discharge, but if u are constantly going through maternity pads I would tell your midwife cos it could be your waters slowly leaking!
Lol lilfatty...

I forgot I was tucking the EPO away for a rainy day! Janey, I think perhaps you've solved my mystery...
Doesn't explain the cramping... could be related. Someone on here said EPO caused cramps for them...
Ok. I think the case is closed
Thanks everyone! I really hope things are starting up, but she'll come in her own time

The EPO caused cramps for me... I used it for 3-4 days I think and had special cuddles on the Sunday night, went into labour in the wee small hours of the Monday morning so I recommend both options!
