Topic: weird movements Posted: 09 January 2008 at 9:06pm |
For the last 5 - 10 mins I've had these weird as movements at the top of my belly... it's kind of like a pulsing. Not hiccups, cos it feels different to that (and more regular). Definitely like a pulsing.
Any ideas as to what it is?
I was wondering if it was the placenta or cord or something??
ETA: It was really strong, as if he was pushing his knee out in a regular rhythm, not like a heartbeat or anything. It's stopped now. Weird!!

sounds like the hiccups? but you say it feels different? thats how i've always described the hiccups a constant pulsing type feeling...
i have no idea, maybe it was a pulse and bubs was resting on something? lol, weird.
and wow! your 39 weeks pregnant?!!! lol i remember when you were newly pregnant, man its gone fast.

Just posted in the Jan forum but I think I felt what you were feeling and my midwife said the baby could be rooting around for a lost thumb or something, apparently it happens !? It definitely felt different to hiccups for me too.

Yeah I know mum2emj, I can't believe it's gone soooo fast! We're ready for him to come out now though
It was definately different to hiccups... different place, stronger, and more regular like a pulse (whereas hiccups are kind of like a little jerk, wait a few seconds, a little jerk again... this was like a regular pushing).
Wow how cool janey, I wonder if it was him moving looking for a lost thumb or something. Isn't it amazing what can go on in there.
Glad I'm not the only one who's felt it cos I thought it was really strange! Haven't felt it since though.

Lol I was watching Wayne's World, and they do have some songs on that! Who knows.. I did have a dream in early pregnancy that I had my baby and when he was a day old he was gurgling but in tune... yep my day old baby was singing. So gotta be musical .
Mum thought it might have been him sitting on an artery or something - cos it stopped when I got up and moved position.
And now that I think about it, it was at the top of my bump - so where his bum or legs would be.. unless my other dream came true and he's turned into the breech position!

I had something similar last night in bed. But when I rolled over it stopped so figured she must have been lying on something! Felt very gross tho.

Nah way different to braxton hicks... have been getting many of those too though!
I mentioned it to my midwife and she too thought it was my pulse... so probably the way the boy was sitting, compressing an artery and making it more pronounced or something. Which makes sense, cos it stopped when I moved - same as yours did aimee.
Ah the joys of weird stuff in pregnancy huh!
