Topic: Itchy Legs! Posted: 25 October 2007 at 6:48pm |
OMG, are my legs itchy or what! I asked the midwife yesterday and she didn't seem to know why they were, then said all the extra hormones. I have been itching them with a comb, sounds yucky aye, but oh what a relief! now my arms have got the itchy bug, and the spots that I have created! What to do! I have been using manuka honey baby rash cream on them and it seems to be working... any other things? And when will it stop?!

Is it cos your skin is dry and scaly? I am really itchy and I think its just cos I'm so dry - need to have a good scrub and moisturise.

I had really itchy skin earlier on. My MW suggested relieving it with some tea tree oil. I tried it & it seemed to provide some relief. Now I use Aveeno moisturiser and it's really really good.
I hope you find some relief soon. Being mega itchy sucks

What about almond oil then? I haven't had the itchy leg thing but if tea tree oil works, then almond may be even better? Ask your mw if she has some.

Cheers Lisha, I've been putting most of it up in the November mummies thread so as to not bore anyone else LOL! I'm really loving it, the job itself is not boring but not hard either, but I'm still getting a feel for how much I can do in a 30-hour week. And it's looking likely that the maternity leave lady is not coming back next year so I'm trying to work towards me getting a permanent job in Jan - woohoo! whoops, try not to get too excited yet

My legs have been really itchy since early on. I thought it was just 'cos I've one varicose vein (had it for years) and I could've been getting more (I've been able to see a light one appering since before preggers), but you've given me hope that maybe thats not it???!!!!

My skin all over seems to itch on and off, I have found my skin gets really dry so I plaster myself in moisturiser which does help. I get more random itchiness, if that makes sense. Plus i have dermatitis which is really bad on my right foot (god knows why) and that drives me nuts sometimes, especially when it gets hot!!

I got some tea tree oil yesterday, but not sure if that is making me worse, had to get up in the night and have another good scratch!

I went away on holiday for a few days and interestingly my dermatitis has died down over that time, so I am blaming workstress for it now, knew there was a good reason not to work!LOL!
How are your itchy legs now Lisha? any luck with the teatree oil?
