Alex goes through the classic Arsenic Hour at night, usually between about 6pm to 9pm, where he yells if he's put down. He tends to be fairly happy if one of us is holding him and walking around, but try to sit down or put him in his bouncer and you hear about it from him! It makes evening quite tricky, to say the least. We've tried putting him in the front pack and that works well until we want to sit down (to eat dinner/watch tv/relax) and then he starts up again.

Any ideas on dealing with this? I'd dearly love to be able to sit down in the evenings with my husband!

Try hiring an electric swing and see if he likes that.

I use to put Daniel in ours when we had dinner so at least I got to eat. It was pretty crap for getting him to fall asleep though others have better luck with that.

Hi,
We found that putting him in his car seat on top of the washing machine worked. Obviously you need to stand guard but we found 2 or 3 mins and he was out like a light and then we would just move the car seat into the lounge.

We have now got him into a night time routine and he goes to bed at 7pm, but at the age yours is he was up till 11 most nights and just wanted to feed feed feed in the evenings, hang in there you will have evenings to yourself again soon.

Have you got a bouncer? We (still) have to bounce Caprece in that for a few minutes peace but she generally is grumpy from 6 and then around 10 she drops off and sleeps for ages

My Kryssi wanted to cuddle and cluster feed from 5pm to 10pm in the early days, pretty much up until 4mos or more (when I introduced solids). I know it can get frustrating but think of it as a stage.

That sounds like what our bub was doing and then all of a sudden he just started sleeping in the evenings so we introduced a routine to it and it has worked out really well. Before that though we would have lots of cuddles on the sofa and lots of feeds. (and quite often take it in turns to eat dinner)

We found that to spend sometime together all three of us would snuggle up on the sofa and try to watch a dvd. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't
