Topic: words you hate Posted: 08 May 2010 at 12:24am |
Just a random topic cos Im bored and DH is watching a dumb movie
What words (if any ) do you hate ?
I know so many people hate the word fanny , it doesn't mind me , but my friend turns green when I say it
She also hates the words
moist and penetrate
so of course I often say to her "oh he is going to PENETRATE her MOIST FANNY "
such fun
As for me I hate the words
poo
loo
poop (and I always read it in an american soccor mom voice "aww hunny ,the babbbbeeee just pooped ! " "
plop
piddle
widdle
pee
pooey
pooed
and I think thats it
anyone else have words they don't like ?

I hate the C word and Mother F*$%er - words Dh uses a lot when playing computer games - waiting for the day his kid starts saying them in the same tone of voice - maybe that will stop him.

Guttering, as in 'that's so guttering'. It's GUTTING (just like it's gutted, not guttered). Makes me laugh.
I don't really care too much about words like poop etc, but terrible use of grammar annoys me (and DH is terrible!). Done instead of did, seen instead of saw etc etc.

I'm with Emz, I'm not very tolerant of improper grammar.
Including Their/There/They're and Your/You're.
I also hate the 'C' word and 'Moist'.
It also bugs me when sayings/phrases are wrong, But that's just a weird thing I have - you can't blame someone if they've misheard/misread it somewhere else and it's caught on.

Yeah I hate the C word too.
I also hate the word Obvious - I don't think anything is obvious and it annoys me when people assume something. - thats a really weird one though I think and nobody else probably has that problem

AnythinK .... it doesn't have a K on the end of it!! And I know people who actually type anythink, what on earth!?
And words like anyFing... I understand some people have a lisp, but really? I know so many people who have worked on this themselves and can now speak properly, or people who half the time do speak normally and only do it sometimes, thats just laziness.
Seen, saw etc gets me too. Although I gotta admit lately I've been doing this myself, and DH has to correct me My brain just seems to be totally mush, and I only really seem to retain really important info!!

More a phrase but I don't like it when people (dh) say that they have 'the flu' when all they have is a cold.
And I also don't like swear words. Don't like it when someone is talking and every second word is f$%k.
Don't like the word 'Dentist', brings back yucky memories. And cause it reminds me that I really need to go see one.

Oh see swearing doesn't bother me so much, but I HATE it when I'm peeved off and people will repeat every swear word you say. YES!! I F%&*^KING know I'm swearing, thats because I'm P*%^&ED off!!! Repeating it, DOESN'T HELP!!!!
But I generally don't swear unless I'm annoyed lol... Occasionally one will slip out, but that doesn't mean you gotta point it out everytime!!

Totally agreed - sometimes there's nothing better than letting out a big "AH F&$K"
And yes, if you have the flu you shouldn't even have the energy to say you have the flu, let alone get out of bed.
But "Man Flu" makes me smile

yep... I'm quite often heard going 'Ohhh For F$%^ Sakes!! when something hasn't quite gone right... or 'Ahhh F%^& it' when I give up on something
FIL swears like a fricken pirate and I am hoping he moves before Jae starts picking up on words.... too late for B, but he's also old enough to know that certain words are only for adults to say...
lol at the Flange on Joscias list.... Kelly I think you're rubbing off on me... remember Regina Philange??
And yeah I realllly hate Panties too for the same reasons as listed above... makes you think of dirty old men on a porno site! A friend of mine calls them panties, and it makes him sound like a dirty old man (although he is a year or 2 older than me, so I often call him that just to take the pi$$ out of him hehe)
It's not so much words that I dont like, but more the way its said... it drives me batty when people mumble.... or speak in a way that its hard to seperate words... oh and text speak!! It takes longer to decipher the message than it did for the person to send the blasted thing!!
Oh and when DP rings me... then says 'hang on' while he talks to someone else... um hello!? YOU rang ME! And last but not least... What? I hate that word!! You should have been listening the first time you ninny! Brandon is a SHOCKER for that! I will end up repeating myself a good 3 or 4 times before he finally listens enough to figure out what I am saying!
