Ok, so I have had the first lot of fertility blood tests done and all look good so far.

On CD 3 my results were:

FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) - 4.6 (Excellent, indicates that I have a good store of healthy eggs.

LH - 3.3 (normal, and good FSH-LH ratio)

Prolactin - 153 (normal for someone who has had a baby already)

And my CD 19 progesterone (2 days after ovulation) was 20.3. Not sure what that means exactly, but the chart I was looking at says that over 10 is good and over 15 is excellent, so that looks OK too.

Am seeing the specialist on 13 March to decide where to from here.

Good luck, Emma! You and Willie remember to enjoy TTC, don't let it become too serious, ok?

LMAO Becca - I never thought I would hear Willie say "Do we have to?"

Robyn - I got pregnant with Maya very accidentally with no trying, but it took us close to 11 mths to conceive the baby we lost a few weeks ago. Just before I found out I was preg I had seen a specialist who ordered these tests, then didn't get them done coz I was preg, but after I m/c I figured might as well get them done and see whats going on as we really don't want it to be another 11 mths before we get pg again.

Emma - How much does it cost to get fertility tests done and where? From your Gp or a specialist? If I was still in PN I would know who to ask but up here in Taranaki I know nothing...

Lena - my GP ordered the CD3 tests (FSH,LH Prolactin) and my specialist ordered the CD18 Progesterone, but as far as I know the GP can order all of them, mine just didn't think the Progesterone was neccessary but the specialist wanted it done. And they were free, apart frm the cost of seeing the doctor.

Are you thinking of getting some tests done?
