Topic: Sound and movement monitor Posted: 18 July 2007 at 1:46pm |
Hi
I'm after opinions on the Angelcare Sound and Movement monitor. Is it overly paranoid to get one, or is it worth it to help you sleep easy?
Also, I have seen them for $249 - is this a good price, or do they come down when on sale?
Cheers
Deb

Join the paranoid crew!!! I got one too. I think $249 is a good price. I looked around and one of the online sellers was cheapest at about that price. They may come on sale so I'd hold off as you have plenty of time.

I loved our Angelcare and so would not have been without it. You can pick them up second hand for a really good price. they sell them new here
for $225 but are out of stock at the moment.

I find ours excellent - we got the digital one because it also has a thermometer and blue night light on it so its great for in Kaleb's room. Otherwise is pretty much the same as the other model.

i love mine and always have the ticker turned on....i sleep ok with it now and it reaassures me without having to go check on her....actually i put her down at 6pm and often dont check her til 10pm etc and then again when i go to bed or when we get up in morning....
i got ours from BF - found them to be cheapest. We used one pad in Basinette and then two in the cot. Make sure the one you buy is sound and movement - there is a much much cheaper one that is sound only that BF sells too.
Would not be without it!

Have to agree with everyone else. Get one. They really are a godsend. When we were still in hospital and didn't have the monitor, I would get up every half hour or so to make sure Noah was still breathing so you can be sooooo paranoid. It really is great for peace of mind and letting you relax when they are sleeping.

We have one too, and I love it, piece of mind is a fantastic thing! We got ours 2nd hand through Ebay (my sis purchased it in Aussie, as we have gone halfs - she is pregnant at the moment and by the time her bubs comes Elle will be past the 'danger' age), it cost us $100 all up, and was near new.

Baby On The Move has them for $199, I just found out earlier. They're out of stock but should have more in within the next fortnight.

The Angelcare sound and movement monitor is one of the top 5 best things we bought for our bubba.. Definitely gives you that peace of mind and well worth the expense.

We have one. It's the best baby thing we have bought. Definately worth the extra cost. I would never have slept in the early days if we didn't have one. I got mine off TM brand new for a very good price (think it was about $100 orr retail) so keep an eye out on there.

oh yeah and the alarm works too...not sure where the thread is but Ella slipped off the one pad in a portacot when we were in chch hotel (or the pad slipped - we arent sure) and the alarm went off...OMG you wouldnt sleep through it that is for sure - damn near had a heart attack but proved to me it was worth it well and truly!!!
the tick is awesome when it is cold at 3am and you wake and wonder if your bubba is ok in the other room!

I just have the sound part - I had the motion one for my first son which I borrowed from my sister, but we never used it as he cried all the time and it would continually go!
We actually haven't really used it with Ethan.........
