Topic: Preggy question Posted: 18 January 2005 at 8:34am |
How many of you guys have had the placenta at the front? I had it at the back with Paris. This time it is at the front and I am wondering if maybe that's why i have had more cramps, more pain in front and am feeling less movements (there is a certain area in the front of my tummy i never feel anything in).. Has anyone else had this and noticed the same things?

It shouldn't cause any more pain or cramps but my OB said that it can stop you feeling some movements until they're bigger!
I have one at the front and one at the back but they are kicking all over except for my lower left where I never feel anything, which I think is because one of the bubs is head down on the right and the other is horizontal up the top!

wow, sounds crowded! lol. just thought maybe the extra little bit of weight in front might cause a bit of pain, but for you with two in there, i'm guessing bump would be pretty heavy anyway!

yep
I'm going to be HUUUUUUGE! Never mind - so long as I get two healthy big babies at the end of it I can worry about getting smaller after that. I figure I'll be to busy to eat anyway! LOL

Are you having a baby shower Niki? If you are, why don't you suggest that people give you frozen cassaroles and muffins and stuff, instaed of clothes (that is, if you have everything you need) - cause i lived with my mum for the first six weks, so she did all the cooking - it was a godsend!! I can only imagine how busy you'll be with twins. And you're right - you probably will be too busy to eat, but you gotta take care of yourself, or you won't be in any shape to take care of the bubs!!

or you could say instead of pressies once the bubs are born visitors could each bring a prepared meal for you to freeze. you could start a roster for the first few weeks and anyone with a spare few hours could volunteer their help.. doesn't take many people with maybe a couple of hours a weeks to spare until you have a pretty full roster of helping hands!

and everyone will want to come around and see the bubs, may as well make themselves useful. have a stack of cleaning utensils at the door, and let them pick one up as they enter!! hehe

Great idea!
I think I'll ask everyone for meals and baking. Everyone keeps asking what do we want and what do we want and we have most stuff already - and I'm really fussy!
Thanks guys

My placenta is at the front, and I didn't feel any kicks at all until after 22-24 weeks (ish - can't remember exactly!) and then when I did feel them, it was more out the side etc.
I had a lot of pain but I'm not sure if it was related to the anterior placenta, or not! Might have been because I had an ovarian cyst, plus I was in hospital at around 20 weeks after a fall and some bleeding, which caused a lot of pain!!
Sorry it's my first pregnancy, so I don't have anything to compare to...
