Topic: My kitten needs a name. Help! Posted: 05 March 2011 at 10:34pm |
Here's a pic
Kitten is a GIRL and we've had it 2 wks and it still is nameless.
Suggestions please
Edited to add, I just discovered today, it's a GIRL, not a boy! Damn people should check properly before the sell a cat as a boy...when it's NOT!

Is there a painter or poet or something like that you could name him after?
My DH and I like Dali's painting so one of our rescue kittens is Dali and the other is George. My son wanted to call them Santa and presents !!!
We were going to call the other one Miro as I like his work too but DH didn't think George suited it.
Does he do something funny that you could call him after? A friend named her cat "knuckles" as it always used to nibble on peoples hands/knuckles!
He looks a lovely grey colour - you could call him Greyson - Grey for short?
I don't know.
He looks cute though, good luck

Ok, so there needs to be a re-think on the name again.
Seems, our little boy kitten, is in fact a GIRL kitten!
This is the 2nd time I've had this issue when buying a cat.
My cat Max, we were sold, as a girl and then 3 wks later and thankfully, still without a name, we worked out by his strange sitting in the kitty litter box, when going pee pee, that maybe we should check under his tail, as we thought, that is a weird way for a girl cat to go toilet. So yeah, we discovered he was not a girl kitten.
So yup, here we are again, nearly 3 wks later, with a kitten, with no name and yet again, we were told kitten was the opposite sex, which was a boy, as advertised and then gone and looked, just in case, to discover, he's a she! Grr! And here was I thinking it's great we have a boy kitten, as it can't get pregnant. Well! This girl needs to be fixed as soon as she's old enough!

We called our cat Layla after an Eric Clapton song hehe is there a song you like or band?
Names that come to mind looking at her are Molly, Aphrodite/Athena if you want to go for the whole greek thing like achilles hehe , Lily, Rosie, pumpkin (I call all little things that, my baby and cat hehehe)

That's a list of popular cat names hehe

Hah, my cat is Bowie because he was a dude right up until he went into heat at 6months and had his womb removed. Seems no one gets cat sexing right.
You should call her pat. Pat the cat (gettit?) Or Guess, so when people ask her name you say 'Guess'

Great name ideas LittleN!
And LOL Bowie to your cat being a dude, til it came on heat! Yeah I know, people seem to get the sex wrong A LOT! Whenever I've sold kittens, I have made sure I knew for sure the kittens sex before advertising it. And hello people, there's google!

Our girl cats were always named after famous women - we have had Madonna and Cleopatra (Cleo for short).
The boys were always cartoons - Garfield and Casper.

Hehe my mum's cat was called Pablo because it was meant to be a boy, but turned out it was really a girl. We still called her Pablo though, just suited her
Your kitty is really cute, hmm I liked Radar but it is a more manly name. Hmm I just looked at her again and "Floss" came to mind lol, no idea why! Good luck coming up with a name

My kittens are 'gender confused' lmao umm Our boys cat is called Lola... We were told by the vet he was a she but nope went back a couple of weeks later and was told 'she' is definitely a boy! Our girls are Tommy, Franky, Harold and Spike... Harold was named after Harold the Girrafe I believe (DPs cat) and T, F and H live with MIL now.

Yeah Sooty was one idea, but DP says NO!
And regarding the famous people's names, I have a Cleo(my older cat) and that was short for Cleopatra, as she always acts like she's royally and the owner of her owners LOL!
