How long was your baby in NB/0000 size clothing before wearing 0-3 months?
I can't recall with DS, though I do remember the mountain of spilly and poopy washing. Having a winter baby this time, I want to make sure I have enough woollen stuff.

it totally depends on birth size. My first was 9lb 6oz and was only in NB for about a week or 2. My second was 7lb 8oz and was in NB for about 4 or 5 weeks.

My DS was 8lb 7oz (3.84kg) and was in NB stuff for about 3 weeks...but the 0-3 size wasn't overly huge on him.

My DS was 7lb15oz and was in PREM size for 2-3weeks because NB was too big, then moved to NB for another 3-4 weeks.

And it depends on the clothing - soooo frustrating! I've just bought long sleeve onsies from Baby City for my 8 month old girls - who are on the small side but not tiny, in newborn size!
And they are just fitting some 0-3 month pants from Pumpkin Patch yet have outgrown others the same size from Pumpkin Patch.

My bub was 9lb 5oz, and was in nb for about a week. But a lot of nb was too small for him even then.

I think it depends on their size at birth... DD was only 3kg 54cm long at birth and she grew very quickly - was 4kg and 55cm by 4 weeks/1 month and by 5 weeks was in 0-3 sizing. Though she oddly enough had one outfit that was NB 56cm and 4kg that still fitted perfect when she was 60cm and 8kg... - Go figure!
The other thing is the may be skinny but long or short and chubby... And not all babies fit NB.
I was told not to buy NB at all but when DD was born NB was massive on her (though she wasn't prem) but fitted within a week. So I did have a lot of 0-3. And tbh I didn't realise babies (NB anyway) were so small!

Depends on who makes them, I've found Kmart stuff is really generous fit same with wee babes range from The Warehouse. I've also stayed away from stuff with feet, I put socks on DD instead as the AIO's with feet were the first things she grew out of.
I had the same prob Lil_Nic, then DD was born and she was in premie size for the first 4 weeks.
DD is 4 months old and still in 0-3 months size clothes.

Sizing is all different. I've found PP to be a bit on the small side, with The Warehouse one of their brands is on the small side and another on the bigger side. DD was 6mo and fitting a few size 2 items! Kmart is quite generous with sizing too and Farmers seem to be slightly bigger as well. Cotton on seems to be on the small side though.

My older 2 (8lb 13oz & 9lb 2oz at birth) were in them for about 4 weeks. Whereas my youngest (8lb at birth) was probably in them for about 6 weeks. I agree that it depends on your baby, i.e. if they are long and lean or short and chubby and also the manufacturers as the sizes all seem so different.

My wee boy, was 7lb 9 oz and 54 cm long. About half my NB was too big for him for quite a while. I think from memory he outgrew most of it by about 4 months although the odd thing he was in up till 6 months. He was a very long skinny baby till about 4 months old. He then kind of just went into 3-6 month stuff.

Funny, I found PP to be more generous and Farmers to be smaller! I do like the PP stuff with the adjustable waistbands though -- some of the 3-6 month stuff that was adjustable, DS wore from 6 weeks right through to 8 months!
Agree with you on Cotton On -- that was really small. DS couldn't fit their newborn stuff at all - he was 8lb 5.

I could possibly have them mixed up! Although I have found the Farmers stuff - she wears them longer. I do love the adjustable waistbands though! Love those!

DS was 8lb 6oz at birth and was in prem clothing for about a week or two. I think he moved into 0-3month clothes at about 6 weeks.
But, like the others have said, it depends on where they come from. PP is huge I find, he was still in a lot of PP newborn stuff at 8weeks, even now at 14months DS is in 6-12month clothing with plenty of room.

My first was 9lb 11oz and 54cm. He was only in NB for maybe a couple of weeks and that was only if they were a generous fit. He fit a lot of 0-3m clothes from birth.
My second was 8lb 1oz and 52cm. She fit NB for around 6 or so weeks i think.

Jacob was big, but not huge - 9lb 1oz - and he hardly fit our NB clothes for long at all. In his case, he had really chubby thighs / bottom, and things just stopped doing up.

Hmmm, all so different. DS1 was 8lb 13oz and about 54 cm - long and skinnyish. I remember thinking that I didn't have enough NB stuff when he was born, thinking he'd a huge baby.
I think I'll be looking for some woollen nighties (AIO are annoying IMO!) in NB size, then it doesn't matter if he's too long.

My DD was 9lb10 and fit 0-3mths straight away and fit a few of the bigger NB things for a couple of weeks. Then again by 4 weeks she was already over 5kg the little piglet.
