Topic: Cant stop eating! Posted: 12 May 2009 at 10:11pm |
I am soooo hungry at the moment and all I can think about is eating!!
Is this normal for people without morning sickness? Or is it just the cold weather hehe.
Honestly, I am scoffing jelly beans as we speak and I am not even a big fan of them lol!

I was like that in the early weeks. Anything high carb I'd eat it - especially scalloped potatos (yum).
It was just as well I think because once my MS settled in I spent the next few months throwing up nearly everything I ate or drank (including water) and even during my second trimester I barely ate due to food aversions (and I think my appetite shrank because I'd just got used to not eating). I have lost weight everywhere except my bump and boobs and found out recently I've gone down to a size 6
So IMO make the most of wanting to eat while it lasts but do try to eat healthy remember you are eating for your baby now too (if I wouldn't feed something to my pre-schooler then I don't want my baby to have it either), maybe swap those jelly beans for baked beans

yea i carbed up hard in the first few months, i didnt have bad MS or anything just wanted bread and stuff all the time. i put on about 10kg in the first 4 months then settled into eating really well and exercising once i started to feel better and was still only 10kg full term and had a 3.7kg baby so dont feel bad about eating at the start but try and reign in the junk food a little and once you hit about 4 months it should fade a little. i found i had to cut out the junk because i couldnt eat all the healthy stuff i was supposed to be eating too which made me be better for bubs sake. thats just what happened to me though, everyone can be different

Most of the time I am eating healthy...my main craving has been bananas and peanut butter. DF has been good and preparing healthy dinners every night and mostly my snacks are almonds and fruit...so not too worried about being unhealthy.
Quite relieved that other people out there also wanted to eat...the whole no morning sickness is great but at the same time don't want to pork up too much for wedding in August!

It seems to me that the more you eat, the less morning sickness you get (though not always reliable!). If you're hungry, go for it!

I never felt full only if I ate heaps of carbs. I didnt put much on during the pregnancy but I am still trying to get rid of the extra.

I've been eating heaps too. I couldn't survive on what I used to eat pre-pregnancy.
Although I must say while I still have a bigger appetite than normal in the last few weeks I have found I can't eat as much now - seem to get full much quicker.
I think I have definitely put on weight but too scared to get on the scales

lol I thought I was going to miss out on morning sickness and it hit me at 7 weeks 4 days. But hopefully you're one of the lucky ones who doesn't get it at all!
I am eating all day, just enough to stop feeling sick, but not so much to make me feel more sick. It's horrible because the last thing I want to do is eat, but it's the only thing that makes me feel better!
I've eaten 5 mandarins already today!

Haha Renee, I just had 5 mandarins too, in a row! They were delicious. TBH I could have eaten the whole bag but thought I had better stop myself

Curious about the mandarin thing....seems like lots of people are obsessing over them. i know in the olden days of being hungover i would eat tomatos and pears and they would be sooooo good, i guess coz they were so juicy ya know?
But now I crave bananas which doesn't make sense haha..but then the fruit over here in Kalgoorlie is nothing great...def not fresh anyway!

I only thought about mandarins after someone else on here mentioned them. Since then I couldn't stop thinking about them and had to stop at the supermarket on my way home to get them and some sweetcorn. Mmmmmm

Nat, I have been eating a lot. But I also seem to throw it back up.
My diet mostly consists of toast, fruit and sweets.
Ok the sweets are a bad thing, but between sweets and fruit, not much else stays down. Even my toast just came back up.
I've put on about 1kg siince getting UTD.
I had the whopper burger I wanted today, I actually think my body is still processing it which is why it dosn't want the toast. LOL

I ate all the time but not because I felt hungry. I ate so I didnt feel sick from MS . I put on about 6kg in the first 12 weeks.
I say if your hungry just eat, its better than feeling sick thats for sure

I ate cereal and fries for about six weeks, all i could manage, my stomach shrunk so much, the morning sickness was awful.
My portions are much smaller but healthier now and getting better week by week. Last week or so though I've been waking up in the middle of the night wanting to go to the fridge and stuff my face! So far have managed to resist! Must be going through a growth spurt or something.
