Topic: Hi new here, qs about hpt Posted: 02 March 2010 at 12:55pm |
Hi Im sandra and I have 2 children ages 5 and 6. We had no problems conceving but have been trying for over a year for number 3 and nothing.....so frustrating aye?
Anyway my question is Is it better to use higher sensitive pregnancy tests and test early or wait..... I have found some super early pregnancy tests on trade me and was wondering whether to buy them....it says they measure 10/MIU ... whats the earliest you guys got your bFP???

I know of some (rarer) 8DPO tests, have seen a couple at 9, but more often from 10DPO onwards. My BFP didnt show (on 15mlu tests) till 14 DPO, 4 days after implantation. (I tested from 8 DPO )
Technically there is no need to test early, but I didnt want to wait.. And with cheap HPTs it means you can test more and not feel bad about 'wasting' a test.
Some dont like to test early incase its BFN which they find harder to deal with than AF, so totally personal decision!
GL, and I hope number 3 arrives soon

Totally personal choice.. with my first I got faint +ive at 11 and 12 DPO with First Response dip stick and a very strong +ive at 14DPO with a Discover.
With second pg I got an ok +ive at 12DPO with an internet cheapie (25ml) and a very strong +ive with a Discover at 13DPO
With this pg I got faint lines (only there at certain angles) at 6DPO and 7DPO and very faints from 8-12DPO with different Internet cheapies (15ml) and a faint +ive at 9DPO with a discover....
All 3 were different and with this one I *could* be a few days further along than thought (which would make sense or that I was getting evaps at first....)
I am POAS -a-holic so like to test a lot LOL I would buy them...

Hi Sandra, or Stacey (from profile)
Join the Two week wait thread. I personally would test on the day AF is supposed to arrive if you've been noting your LMP dates.

Purely personal choice I'm 14DPO and still having POAS and not planning to for another couple of days yet. That's just me though. I've had several BFNs closely followed by old AF once bitten twice shy I guess.

Yup I agree with Mel & C&J, a personal choice if you use one that is ultra sensitive or not. I used to be POAS addict but it gets hard sometimes seeing the BFN all the time. Now I try to wait it out as long as I can...although I usually fail miserably! Guess I am a POAS addict at heart
