DD is showing a lot of symptoms of teething, but is it really possible??

She has been doing the following lately:
1. Drools ALOT
2. Gnaws on her fingers and thumb (and not because she's hungry), her thumb is red because she sucks on it so much!
3. Has become very irritable in the evenings this week and often during her feeds in the evenings, she'll take two sips (FF) then start screaming. She'll keep doing this until about the 5th attempt when she'll keep feeding. Feeding during the day is fine.
4. She has bumps along her bottom gums that definitely look like teeth, but being a first timer I've never really studied a baby's mouth before!

Apart from this, she is a happy healthy baby and sleeps 10-11 hours at night, gets loads of smiles and plays happily.

Is it really possible for a baby to be teething at 2 months or could it be something else?

Not entirely impossible. A friend of mine, her daughter got her first tooth at 4 weeks old.

Definately possible although you may not see any teeth for awile, some babies can show symptoms for ages before the teeth cut.

Apparently I cried every night from 6wks until I cut my first tooth at 12wks!
Ben is generally worse with his teething as the day goes on, the worst at bedtime. The bottle teat could be irritaing or hurting her gums. You could try some bonjela before her evening feed

Yup, babies can be born with teeth.

A friend's baby got his first teeth at 2 months.

Both of my babies have started "teething" at around 4 months and not actually cut any until they were 6-8 months old
Chloe (4 years) and Oliver (3 years).

Willow has been teething since 8weeks. The teeth come up you can see them under the gum, she goes down for a sleep and they are gone again.

I had two teeth some time before three months old (my mum doesn't know how long I had had them, she only discovered them when I bit my older sister)

And my younger sister was born with a mouth full of teeth that went back down at about 2-3days old.

the teeth can move around quite a bit before they actually break the surface.
