3 spots/rash? We noticed it last night when we were bathing Jackson. Although it wasnt as red or blistery looking. DH first thought it was heat rash as it looked 'prickly' (medical talk perhaps??). Anyways since then its changed to this (see pics)

Its only on his back, and I cant see any sign of it anywhere else. He has had BM, baby rice and a slice of nectarine in the last 24 hours, so dont think its food related.

Could it be chicken pox?? What do you think??

My first thought was heat rash as well. If they are chicken pox more will come up over his body in the next few hours but I don't really think they look like CP....

If you are concerned ring the healthline - they are quite good at helping you distinguish these things and they will say if you should take bubs to the doctor as well ;-) I'm no good though because I can't remember the phone number

My friend's little girl has just had something really similar looking diagnosed as molluscum. Apparently it's quite catchy but harmless.

FX it's not chicken pox!

I think they look more blister-like than a heat/allergy rash. All the eczema rashes I've seen are red and have slightly raised bumps, but not a 'head' to the bump like you can see on your boy.

CP can be mild with just a couple spots - I'd call healthline or go to the doc to get them checked.

Hmm thanks ladies. Will ring the healthline here.

I cant be sure their not mozzie bites but usually it would be bigger and kinda swollen looking IYKWIM.

If it is molluscum, they have a characteristic shape....very rounded with a crater in the middle. nothing to worry about...they go away by themselves eventually. Most people have had them at some stage and have immunity...I didnt and got them as an adult after staying in a dodgy hostel while backpacking...lovely!!!

rianna08, definitely call health line or see your GP. Since they seem to be fluid filled that can mean an infection.

they look like what B had a week or two after being exposed to CP... so I assumed they were too. He only had 4-5 spots that came up, popped, weeped for a couple of days, then were gone.

Well it appears to be Chicken Pox. The Dr sent us to the hospital cos apparently babies this young only normally get them if they are under nourished or have poor immune systems.

So after waiting over an hour for the Dr (she was running late) she said to be safe and go to the hospital to check for other things like pneumonia (sp?) eeeeek, minor freak out on my behalf Anyways, the Dr there was happy that he has just managed to pick them up from gawd only knows where and sent us home ... Jackson is his usual self with a bit of grumpy and crankyness thrown in. Just pleased my baby boy is ok

The spots are well and truely on their way now though, they are popping up everywhere.

Thanks everyone for your info and advice

Oh bummer that it's CP. Hope it's all over with fairly quickly. At least this young he might not scratch at them so much?
