Has anyone been to a Mums and Babies yoga class before?

We have one nearby and now that Kaze is 8 weeks old I thought I might take him along. The only thing I was wondering is whether it might be a bit tricky what with him still feeding and sleeping so often, because I imagine that the baby will be awake the entire class, so I'll have to make sure he's had a feed and a sleep just before I go.

If you have been to a class before, how old was your baby when you first took them? In hindsight would you have gone along earlier/later?

cheers

I started taking Harry from 8 weeks I think. It was mostly yoga for mum, and we did a little bit of baby yoga, but really no more than 10 min.

My class was 90 min, so I'd make sure I fed him before the class and then just took him in his capsule and he slept there. I also took toys and a blanket for him to roll around on.

Sometime I used to feed him during the class as well, if he was hungry or really unsettled.

We went to yoga right up until the end of the year, and to be honest it was way easier when he was tiny than at 7 months old!

We started going when C was 6wks adjusted. I just took him in in his capsule. If he was awake I would lay him on the mat in front of me (just on a muslin) otherwise I let him sleep. There was a big range of ages in the babies, some mums had crawlers/toddlers and it looked much harder!!! Our teacher was great and gave lots of examples/modifications for including baby in the poses if we wanted to.

If C needed feeding I would just feed him there. Sometimes he would be needing to go back to sleep just before the end of the class so I would let him go to sleep on me and just relax for the rest of the class or the teacher would hold him for a bit so I could do some more.

We stopped going when C was around 5mo or so as it clashed with his nap time and then later with lunch time.

TBH some days I didn't get much out of the yoga itself but it WAS a great way to get us both out of the house and interacting with different people again

thanks for the replies, sounds as if now is the time to go while he is still small so I think I will go along tomorrow and try it out. And good to know i can always feed him there and he can sleep through it etc.

I tried to go with baby #1, think I only made it to one class! And it's been too hard with the second to have someone to look after my toddler while I went to yoga with baby so I haven't tried. I looooved preggy yoga at the Yoga Tree though.
