Had something similiar. It was good until they got to the finger food stage then it was difficult because he couldn't reach the table etc.
I prefer the ones that either boost the child hieght up to table hieght or that has a little table attachment.
We've got one of those that we use sometimes when we are out. They are pretty good so long as the chair back isn't too high, but we haven't done finger foods with it. I actually use the pram most of the time and it works pretty good.
I would recommend if you get one to put a towel on the chair to catch the food spills.
We bought a portable one from K Mart - its plastic and you strap it onto a chair. Has a tray and you can adjust the seat height. You can fold the back of the chair down to compact it slightly.
Very handy and cant remember how much but was cheap.
Can even pull it apart to put in dishwasher if you want to.
My MIL has one similar (comes with a booster pad bit to make them sit a bit taller so they can reach the table) that she used with my nephew when he was litte and it was great, especially when he got to the stage of wanting to sit like all the grown ups at the table.
