Hi,

DS has managed to pick up this disease, the Dr said its pretty mild and he seems ok, grizzly but apart from that not too bad.

But how much does it affect their eating, he will hardly put anything in his mouth and if its lumpy at all he just spits it out, trying to work out if the bug is causing his recent hopeless eating or its just him.

Its it pureed he'll eat anything, and he used to eat lumpy things, but he hardly wants to put anything in his mouth.

He also wants bottles more, we were down to 2 a day but gone back to 4.

I would think quite a bit as it can give them a really sore throat and in some cases spots in the mouth. I would just give him pureed food and extra bottles until he is over it.

Ella didn't eat anything when she had it- she had ulcers all over her mouth and it was really sore. I just made she kept her fluids up.

Yeah Daniel didn't like eating much when he had it either. We gave foods like yoghurt, ice cream etc and we gave pamol about 1/2 an hour before dinner and he ate then.

My DD is just getting over this. Shes had it since last Tuesday. We had two days of eating nothing but soft foods or liquids. So i just offered her lots of extra bottles and mushy type foods, although she actually didn't eat much at all. She started eating again yesterday and is back to eating anything and everything and has dropped back to her one evening bottle.

My opinion is to just go with the flow, they will let you know what they want, even if its not entirely what you want them to have, they do jump back to normal pretty fast!

Lauren had huge ulcers on the roof of her mouth and constantly complained "Mummy sore mouth". She also still has alot of blisters on the soles of her feet, but in general she is pretty much back to her happy old self!
