Hi all.
Well am very new to this baby biz. My hubby and I recently got married and have decided now could be the time to start on expanding our family. At this stage I'm not going to bother charting and all that stuff, just play it all by ear and if it happens it happens. Fingers crossed the wait isn't too long tho.

Hello,
My husband and I are trying for #1 also, and are up to our third month of trying now. I'm the same as you, 1stTime, I don't want to get too hung up on all the methods. I started to get that way, but then decided to put the books away and just relax about it all. It is quite overwhelming though
Good luck

Congratulations on getting married.
Welcome to OB, everyone is great here.
The charting thread is really friendly, and the ladies in the waiting to TTC are great too, you don't have to be waiting to come join in.

Hi there, just wanted to add my 2 cents. My husband and I are just about to have our first wedding anniversary, and are also TTC for our first baby, have been trying for 3 months and hopefully this one is it :) It can be a stressful process so I agree, so try not to get hung up in the books and tests etc until you have to. Like Vicki I got caught up in all of that but have decided just to see how it goes for now.
Would love to chat to people who are also trying for their first as I am not telling my friends until it happens, and as I am 23 Im quite young so they don't really understand. So anyone in the same situation would love to talk to you :)

Hi Lisaas101, this is our first time trying for a baby, I went off the pill in August and began taking folic acid. We went on our (delayed) honeymoon end August and started our TTC from then. September also came and went with a wee bit of action around when I thought was ov but who knows. Haven't noticed anything diff with my body so am assuming AF will arrive early this week sometime. We will see. I've only told my sister that we are TTC.
So many people around us have announced their pregnancy's so am feeling like if we were to do the same there wouldn't be much excitement to go around if you get what I mean. I would be happy for things to take another month or so.

Hi guys, sorry to jump in here. I went off the pill last month (was on it for a few years) started to take folic acid. Now im 3 days late for my period. Preggy Tests i got from my sister, who works in a docters surgery , are coming up negative. Im feeling a bit queasy and peeing a bit more frequently but thinking it might just be in my head..... Its horrible waiting to find out. people say coz ive been on the pill for a while, it wont happen staight away.

Hey lisaas101, good luck for your first. Seems like we are in the same sort of situation, however I'm 35, so my worry is my older age. I guess it doesn't really matter how old you are, people seem to have all kinds of different experiences no matter what their age.
Kirst84, good luck to you too. I've been off the pill for about 2 years, and it hasn't happened for me straight away. Before that I was on the pill for quite a few years. I agree with you, the waiting is the hardest.
Good luck for this month 1stTime.

Hi Kirst, I so know what you mean, the first month we seriously started TTC and timed everything right, I had myself convinced I was pregnant, I was nauseous, sore boobs, all sorts, and honestly thought the test was just going to confirm it but then it was negative, and AF showed up. I was heartbroken so since then I have tried not to think I am pregnant but I think in the back of my mind I always slightly convince myself that I am. It's a really tough process.
I know what you mean about the pill, I was on it for about 5 years and its taken a year and a half for my cycle to return to some kind of normality. If I had known what I know about it now, I would never have gone on it to begin with, and I wont ever go back on it.
Vicki, good luck to you too! Its my 1st wedding anniversary this weekend and also fertile time so Im hoping we are going to be blessed hehe. I never realised this whole process was going to be so hard.
1st time I hope you have good news already :)

AF due last night/this morn, but no sign. Could be just her settling down since coming off the pill. Had crazy emotions last week (normally happens before AF), so think she'll turn up eventually.

Hi Kirst, cant say I had any nauseous feelings coming off the pill. Didn't really notice any major changes. Although I do really miss that knowing exactly when AF will arrive!
I tested again this morn and still a BFN, AF now by my calculations about 2 days late, but then thats assuming a regular cycle which since its only been 2 months off the pill kinda hard to determine.

Hey Kirst, my husband and I are trying to conceive #1 as well and I am 36 so one of the 'oldies'....well according to the books anyway.
I've been off the pill for a year now so I cant remember my cycles. I think I was a bit all over the show for a few months - cycles were between 26 - 32 days if I remember rightly. A year later I am usually 29 days.

Its horrible because i have been on the pill a long time and always got AF mon-fri, never missed a beat. Now im 4 days overdue. I fully thought it was coming because i had the usual bloating etc. Last week i felt like my nipples were going to break off! they hurt so much, which was something i have never felt before! Gone back to normal now, just wish a test would go postive or AF would turn up!!! TTC is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster really!

Hey Kirst, I have noticed that since Ive been off the pill I have had things like sore boobs and bad cramps which I never had on the pill, so it could just be that natural periods are more painful and do more to your body :( hehe I definitely notice them a lot more now.
I had the exact same thing a few months in a row where I had the lot, all these symptoms but turned out to just be AF. A lot of people on here complain about the symptoms being the same.... one of the really annoying things about TTC.
The pill really is a pain and it's hard to know when your cycle will come back .When it does it's not always the same as it was on the pill either, which is frustrating.
Fingers crossed something happens for you either way soon even so you can just know what to expect from here in terms of your cycle. Obviously a BFP is much more preferable hehe :)
Have you guys tried Vitex? I am taking it, its a vitamin which helps to regulate your cycle again, people often suggest it after coming off the pill. If AF doesnt come but no BFP you should give it a try.
I dont know whether it works or not but I took it for about a month and had my first right on time AF, then I stopped taking it and it wasnt as regular after that, so Ive gone back on it. Worth a shot
