Hey All,

please help me with boy name ideas...

We like names like Samuel, Oliver, Nathan, James, Luke... but nothing really gets full marks from us both.

Baby has an older brother Bradley James (usually just gets called Brad, so we'd like a name that we can shorten).

I like names that aren't too common, but are easy to spell (complex surname).

Any ideas much appreciated

My partner and I couldn’t agree on any boys names but we had a huge list of girls names. My favorite boys name however is Jack.

before we found out we were having a girl, we had kinda setled on zachary (or zach for short), not the most common name but we throught it sounded cool, but at the end of the day it's what ever you find most appealing.

since this is our last pregnancy and its a girl - we will let you have our chosen name LOL

We had choosen Rheed for a boy.

We loved it and was the only reason I was disappointed we weren't having a boy LOL - although we have the surname Reid and Read on each side of the family so was the reason i loved it so much as well.

Actually.....Bradley and Cameron doesn't look to bad , hmm Brad and Cam ........

I decided I want to call our next baby if its a girl , Elyse Olivia (I like Y's in names ) which DH wasn't a hundred percent on at first , so I told him he could name the next baby if it was a boy .........

Awesome, can't wait to welcome little Ryan MacGuyver into the world , hopefully he'll be good at defusing bombs, you never know when they'll show up

Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. I love Samuel too but hubby isn't too keen as our surname starts with an S. Cameron is great too, but baby will have a cousin Cameron!

Ahh, keep them coming I'm getting some great ideas!

I actually think MacGyver is really cool Just think, when our kids are our age none of them will have the faintest idea who he was!

ETA when I was in labour we still hadn't chosen JJ's name, we had it down to 3 names and the other two names were Isaac (we would have called him Zac for short) and Oscar (which we almost used cos he came out so grouchy!). In the end we chose Jeremy because my midwife said that was the only one of our three names she hadn't seen more than one of that year

I like - Zachary, Xavier, Nathaniel, Xander, Cameron, Luka, Ryan, Joshua, Jayden, Lachlan, Jackson, Lincoln.

DF didn't like any of those though  Or, they were already taken by other family members

becsscolly - just an idea/opinion. Both DP and I have a few names chosen out but we won't settle on one until we meet our boy.
We figure we'll take one look at him and just KNOW what name he's supposed to have.
And you may also find that some of the names you have, you're a bit iffy about, but when you meet him and decide which one suits him best, you'll both just click to the name and love it.

LOL Kelly OMG don't have any more children if thats DPs taste in names

DP hates every boys name I've brought up so far coz he says this a girl and thats final Probably is too but I'd still like a couple of boys names as JIC options!!

Zachary, Oscar, Fergus (really love Fergus!!), Oliver, Tyler and Duncan are my tops faves and of all of them Duncan is the only one that might get a look-in coz its a common family name on my dads side so I'd use that as leverage

Yeah dh & I are sorted for a girl's name, but not for a boy's - I like Jack / Jackson - but Jack has been the most popular name in NZ for the last 4 years & we prefer to be a bit different

Some other names on our list are: Logan, Blake, Jordan, Marcus, Tyrone, Conrad, Devon, Connor, Chase, Mason.

At the moment Dallas is at the top of our list, maybe with Jackson as a second name (so if he finds Dallas too different he can take on Jack quite easily).

Hey AmStaff, yeah its not so much that we have to pick one name, more that we need some that we like more than "so-so"! We're not picky really...

Well our two picks are Mackenzie and Phaelan if that helps.

I have noticed a few of the names you have, infact all of thm, are pretty "traditional" names. Have you considered something a bit more "unique" or perhaps trying hybrid names?
I.E, if you like two names, try combining them into one. Like if you like Samuel and Nathan, try Samthan. Or Oliver and Luke could be Lukaver. Ok, sorry not a very good examples but you get the idea.

Oh and yes...I am weird. LOL

I love Rex but Jess won't let me use it If we ever have a wee boy he will probably be Noah. It's simple but you don't hear it much.
