Hi Ladies, I know I've seen recomendations for midwives in West Auckland before, however now it's actually relevant to me I can't seem to find the post anywhere.
Would love to hear of your experiences.
Seems like such a big decision to make seeing as this person is going to be sharing such an important part of your life.

Try The Midwives in Greenbay. I have met all of them and there was only one that I didn't really warm to. They also run their own antenatal classes.

Can highly recommend Heidi Copeland - worked alongside her as a Doula (birth support person) recently - let me know whether you want her contact details.

I'm from West Auckland too. My doctor gave me a list and she personally likes and recommended Abbe COPPINS from Henderson, Tel : 826 3993. I haven't called her because I've made appointment at Kate Sheppard in Albany, meeting the consultant today and they will recommend one. Heard that Kate Sheppard is really good. You might also wanna call them Tel : 4871437.

Anyone used Gail Kiss from Glendene or Angela Scott from New Lynn?? They have been mentioned to me.

Both people I know that have used Gail Kiss have raved about her. My sister in law had her with her third baby and loved her.

Her email is babyontheway@xtra.co.nz, plus both the other ladies she works with are pretty good too.
I cannot sing her praises enough !!!!

I think so. I have used The Midwives in Green Bay and they are wonderful! Glenda Southey, I can't say enough about how wonderful she is. If/when we decide to have #3 I might have to ask for her schedule so I can work around it  .
A friend had Terri, SIL had Kirsten and I used Carly for accupuncture - all from The Midwives in Green Bay - and they are all great as well.

Yep Abbe is from Greenbay.
Glenda assisted at our birth and I agree with Linzy she was wonderful, Abbe unfortunately missed out on the main event and we had our backup midwife Kerry who really did a great job as we had an impromptu home birth. Will be making sure that the next one doesn't coincide with Abbe's birthday or leave!
I also used Carly for acupuncture and she did a couple of my checkups over Christmas and she is so super lovely. And Kirsten is adorable.
The other lady that people seem to really like there is Louise.
The clinic phone number is 8381234. I still have all their individual numbers so if you would like them let me know.

Wow sounds like there are some amazing midwives out this way!! Now my biggest problem will be who to choose.
