Topic: too tired? Posted: 02 September 2009 at 6:17pm |
ok, so I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I just don't remember being this tired and lifeless last time.
Today I woke up and gave my girl breakfast, did half a chore and then fell asleep on the couch for about 2 hours. I woke up gave Joy lunch and put her into quiet time then have slept from 3ish to 6pm.....Is anyone else experiencing this? Should I go see the doctor? I feel like all I am doing is sleeping.

you could have your iron levels checked just to be sure but honestly I'm feeling much the same...I'm having days where I'd be happy to stay in bed all day!

congratulations.
yip I have been so much more tired this pregnancy. Ella has had to get used to playing a bit more by herself while I lie on the couch with my eyes closed and thank goodness she still sleeps for 2 hrs after lunch as I so need that time to sleep.

I've been tired the whole way through lol! Can't unfortunately compare it to any other baby, but my previous pregnancy I was pretty tired through to the 10 week mark when I lost bubba. Congrats on your pregnancy though!

And you have a small person who requires attention, with the first pregnancy you got more sleep (well I did anyway)

I was a dead girl walking. I had never ever been as tired as in the first trimester. It was close as I have ever been to tortured, I had to concentrate at work not to fall asleep and to move my computer mouse to prevent the screensaver from coming on. I am little over 14 weeks now and happy to note that most of it has lifted. I still need more sleep at night but I can make it through the day now without feeling like dying. I was mostly spared the ms but what I was spared in that was made up for by the tiredness.. I guess what I am saying is hang in there, it will get better...eventually

I've decided yup on both counts!!! Hubby left for work just before 7.00am and thankfully put on a movie for Miss M 'cos I emerged from the bedroom at 8.40am!!! Thank goodness she didn't destroy the house while I was out cold!

Ok, thanks ladies. You have all put my mind at ease. Hopefully the tiredness will go away soon...I just feel bad for Joy coz she gets the short end of the stick so to speak.

Oh and yep, the more kids you're chasing after, the more tired you feel. Don't feel bad about Joy, she won't remember

I am glad to hear about all the tired people.
I am ok in the morning till bout 10am then I just die after that.
I am getting so tired my legs hurt and I feel like just dropping to the ground and going to sleep.
I feel so useless, I just cant function. I lay down and rest for 20 mins and start to feel better then get up and it zaps me.
I feel so tired I think something must be really wrong with me. I have taken the day off work and will hopefully sleep all weekend.

I was way more tired this time round than with Caden, I think its just because this time I had Caden to run around after at the same time, and the fact that he was only 5 1/2 months old when I got pregnant lol
I also had terribly low iron, so would pay to have that checked. I ended up in hospital at 36 weeks having an iron infusion done, was not nice

Yup I get the hardcore tiredness too. I think that is one of the tell tale signs that you just might be pregnant, before it is actually confirmed.
I was so, so exhausted the first trimester. I still get pretty tired now. Need my nana naps still, at around 1pm, but have to keep an eye on the time so I don't forget to pick my daughter up from school. It sucks though when I am visiting people and at about 6pm I want to fall asleep on there couch. And then I still have to drive home damn it!
And man, I will not even try and study anymore. All I can handle is 30 mins and that is hard work and then I'll have to snooze for 2 hours.
