I'm at a loss at what to try next. I don't care if its sposie or cloth I need something that won't leak..

We have tried a sposie (various brands, and the next size up from what he should be in) with a pocket nappy overtop with a hemp trifold in it and it still leaked (6 layers of hemp).

Wool does not work on Daniel. I don't know what it is about his pee these days but it doesn't matter if its longies, shorties, wool covers, wool pockets, it all leaks through no matter how many times its been lanolised. We have tried various fitted nappies (borrowed designer bums and they leaked) and overstuffed pockets, it all seems to leak these days.

He is basically very rarely peeing during the day and waits until the middle of the night before he lets alot of it go. Changing him in the middle of the night to prevent leaks is not going to happen, I'd rather have more washing than interrupted sleep from waking him lol

Any ideas?

Oh and hes in polarfleece sleepsuits cause its the only thing that sorta stops the pee coming through to his bed, anything with cotton or elastic or wool just gets saturated

will he use a potty? if so maybe try and get him to "go" before bed and that might relieve some of it

yeah i was going to suggest maybe he is getting ready to toilet train... maybe a potty during the day.

you could try a pocket stuffed with a flat and a microfibre insert - those flats are remarkably absorbent.

and you might be surprised how well he sleeps thru a change (unless you have tried already). I used to have to change gabriel nearly every night when he was a bub (3 or so) ane even tho he stirred he never fully woke up.

I've tried before with the nappy changing thing, he does wake up and fully wakes up so its more hastle than its worth really, Plus I don't wanna get up either lol.

With the potty thing I'm not sure about that, he's never been keen about the potty so I've not pushed it, I bring it out once a month to see if his reaction has changed. But really hes just not interested in it at all, doesn't want a bar of it

taine used to hold on so well, i thought he was going to get a bladder infection. we put him in the bath every night and made him pee in it. Gross i know, But got the job done. then the night peeing stopped (well slowed down). taine was night trained very early (well, compared to jake)

Leo was a heavy wetter between 18mths-2yrs and the only thing that worked for him was a DB hemp fitted with the bamboo booster they sell to go with it, with either a DB merino cover or lanolised longies over top. It was the only combination that worked for him.

Sorry I can't think of anything else that hasn't already been suggested

That combo didn't work for us. Tried it for like a week with my friends large set and it leaked every night. I might try 2 sposies tonight lol

What about a disposable sanitary pad used as a booster inside a disposable nappy?

i have an excellent wigglebum pocket i used for both boys, its a PUL outer but the absorbent material is a bit different , think its a microsuede. that worked wonders with a flat and a microfibre insert. if you want to try it i can send it down if you want... (its one of my fave nappies cause its orange PUL and chocolate inner).

It wasn't the fit, the nappy was absolutely soaking, it just wasn't enough absorbency.

I'll try the double sposie idea tonight and see how it goes then if that doesn't work I might take ya up on that offer.

Stace all I can think of is that it's not necessarily overall absorbency but speed of absorbency that's the issue, if he's letting go all at once? So while hemp/bamboo etc are great for soaking up a fair amount of wee they can't hack it all at once, so you get the leaking? (Same with the wool, can't handle it all at once.)

A friend had this problem and what worked for her was a pocket nappy stuffed with a pad folded flat (soaks up wee fast) with a microfibre booster on top and a hemp trifold in the middle. Then longies over the top. His bum was HUGE apparently but it worked.

What about just leaving the potty in the lounge? I did that with Jake (he was already interested but had stopped using it after getting sick) and left him bare-bummed. Within a week he was peeing in it even though he'd screamed at the suggestion of sitting on it. It helped that he got a lolly everytime there was wees in there lol hes a sweet-tooth my baby!!
Otherwise maybe a shower instead of a bath before bed? The sound of the water might help with the bladder release thing IYKWIM?
Good luck!!!

This may sound strange but how about massaging his bladder before bed.

The plunket nurse was looking for Coopers testicles (was very cold lol) and as she felt along where his bladder was he wee'd on her. She managed to get wee'd on 3 times in the process. So maybe try that as he's sitting on the potty?

Dunno if it would work but thought it was an outside the box idea.
