Ladies,

I'm all out of inspration for what to bring to work for lunch.

Usually I'd have ham sandwiches, yoghurt and fruit. For some reason, I've gone off yoghurt for some reason and can't eat ham.

Anyone got any suggestions for filling lunches? To be honest if I had my way, I'd alternate between pies, toasted cheese sandwiches and burgers. But I know that's not too healthy.

I made a thread on this when I first got pg - I've bumped it for you. Its in the food and recipes section.

I've been eating heaps of fruit, soup and muffins. I'll be trying crackers with tomato now that its warming up a bit. Toasted sandwiches with cheese and pineapple are my default option, or fresh bread with a vegetarian topping straight out of the fridge and newly opened at lunch time.

I often make myself some pasta with one of the tomato-y sauces and add some cheese. Or pesto pasta with some extras like corgettes, peppers, tomotoes and nuts? Not sure if you count that as healthy though...

What about salad wraps? If you like tuna I've noticed quite a few people eat that, though I don't like it.

Toast and soup?

I really struggle with lunch too and had a pie today...

Yeah I had a pie too I've also had bk.

My other go-to is Korean food which is relatively healthy and fat-free. Though since I told my local resturant I'm pregnant, the lady keeps insisting I eat the seaweed soup which is actually really, really good for pregnant woman but I never really developed a taste for.

Ha had to laugh T_rex warming up?! can I move to your side of palmy?
I caved today and had a hot dog from the school canteen-usually soup and a cheese roll.

Oh I always have (everyday) a fresh fruit salad.

I get 2 mandarins, 2 kiwifruit, some grapes and an apple. Cut them all into bits, mix them about and dig in. Some days I hadd yoghurt to it too but not much point if you've gone off yoghurt.

What kind of 'applicances' do you have access to at work?

If you have a microwave and toaster I think cans of baked beans, spag, creamed corn, savory tomatoes etc on toast are great. I'd eat these every few days...even scambled egg in the microwave on toast is OK.

Re toasties - you can make 'healther' ones - I always have cream cheese rather than 'real' cheese and relish (or something) they're really yummy and not *as* bad for you...

Soup is always a good stand by. Some of the packet ones you can get now are really good.

I'm super lucky - I work from a converted house so I can make anything I want - pasta and tomato sauce, fried rice, baked potatoes etc...Can throw it on and go back to work so don't waste time cooking on my lunch break either...

I'm into crackers and dip at the moment

Hummous and i love that lisa's eggplant dip. Also you could cut up some carrots and have them with hummous.

soup, i've been making homemade and getting lots of veggies in that way. I usually make it with chicken stock for flavor and throw in a tiny bit of cream to thicken it up and its yummy and warm.

other than that, left overs reheated in the microwave are filling.

toasted sandwiches are great but I like cheese on mine:)

jacket spuds a great with some baked beans.

depends if your near a microwave i guess.

I enjoy sandwiches so have found it really difficult! I have been having vegemite & chips (not the healthiest!) or vegemite & cheese or picalilli & cheese (I am addicted to picalilli!)

My hubby makes my lunch for me (bless him) and at the moment its lots of little things which seem to do the trick. I usually have a le snack, peanut butter and jam sandwich, yoghurt/dairy food, kiwifruit (cut in half ready to go with a spoon) and a couple of bikkies. I usually have those pottles of fruit in juice and museli bars in my drawer in case of emergency too. This all keeps me going throughout the day and stops me feeling sick.

Im glad I'm not alone with the lunch thing! I have found it really hard! I used to have ham, cheese and mayo sammies EVERY day at work but they went right out the window when I found out I was expecting. I find now that I can't eat much in one go anyway so I just stock up on HEAPS of fruit.... have a kiwifruit, an apple, a banana and either a manderine or some grapes everyday along with a small bag of chippies for morning tea (that my naughty for the day), a healthy muesli bar for afternoon tea and yoghurt for during the day. I just graze, keeps the sickness at bay! And LOTS of water
