Topic: Boobs. Possibly TMI Posted: 28 July 2009 at 8:11am |
Hi All
In the last few weeks my boobs have gotten all veiny and stretch marky. So my questions are:
1) What can I use on them to help these marks go away? (cocoa butter, Bio oil, etc)
2) Will these marks ever go away or will I have zebra boobs for the rest of my life?
3) Should I be worried about any of these veins or stretch marks doing damage to my breast tissue and milk ducts, etc?
Thanks in advance.

I know my boobs looked like they were covered with thick blue spider webs they got that veiny while I was preg - it was like you could see through the skin. I was really grossed out by it and worried, but it turns out it was just hormonal, and went away gradually after I had my girl. I didn't use anything on them, just bio-oil sometimes when they got really itchy.

yeah it's totally normal I like it as it's a sign everything going right:) but nothing makes the veins go away i guess you could use cream on the stretch marks but I never did i figured genetically I was going to get them so didnt worry..some people use bio oil or cocoa butter and no it won't do damage to anything inside there...

Probably nothing - you can try bio oil etc if you want but it's really down to your genetic makeup. I didn't use a thing last pregnancy and got no stretch marks (same as my mum) but friends of mine religiously used creams and still got them.
2) Will these marks ever go away or will I have zebra boobs for the rest of my life?
They'll fade right down to silver and so you won't really see them.
3) Should I be worried about any of these veins or stretch marks doing damage to my breast tissue and milk ducts, etc?
Nope - Veins are normal as your blood supply has increased. Stretch marks are just because everything is growing so quickly. Just wear a good maternity bra and you'll do fine

I looked like a freakin road map lol! I didn't use any cream as I also think it just comes down to your genetic make up and skin type although you occasionally hear bio oil success stories. Personally I thought it was pretty expensive and didn't work for any of my sisters so I didn't bother. They do shrink down and fade. My boobs now look almost exactly the same as pre pregnancy...... only slightly less perky and with a few silvery lines where the stretch marks were.

Ok, well thats good to hear.
Went and got some new bras today and go measured up properly. I've gone from a 12AA/12B to a 14B and I'm expecting to grow some more.
Will have to ask mum about stretch marks, not too sure if she has them or not. Can't say I've ever really looked.

So attractive isn't it. lol. I was saying to DP the other day that my boobs have gotten really veiny. He laughed. They got all covered in stretch marks when i was pregnant last time. The stretch marks faded though and aren't very noticeable now. I'm sure they weren't this covered in veins last time. Haha.
