I have a question for those who are BFing babies with top teeth. Jody now has 2 top ones, only *just* through. However, now BF hurts like a bearch and I have 2 little tooth marks afterwards. She appears to be latched fine, she isn't biting me at all, the teeth just rub against me as she suckles. Any advice??
Will my breasts just get used to it like wearing in new shoes?

LOL re wearing new shoes, but yeah, it will get better - took about a week to 10 days for me.
Your DD will adjust her suck to accomodate the teeth, and then it won't hurt.

yea i hurt for me for a few days too. And he wasnt biting but was leaving marks. I actually would feed each side twice but for shorter amounts of time as it would get real painful eg, right side 5mins, left side 5mins and then back to right side then left again. Only did this if it was really bad though. After about a week at the most he has adjusted his latch and we were all good. Henry now has four top teeth and there is no pain while breastfeeding at all. Good luck

It was the same for us, took a little while for him to adjust his latch and for me adjust how I was holding him etc but we worked it out. Still have this prob occasionally but mostly when he's just having a lazy suck and not properly feeeding.

Yep, what they said . Lil miss went thru a real biting stage about 9 mths where she would bite every time I latched her, or if she startled mid feed. I got so close to weaning her, it was agony and she made me bleed more than once, but we persevered and she sorted herself out. It was around the time she cut her top eye teeth so I wonder if they were a bit sore, or the different feeling in her mouth confused her. Either way, she's now 12 1/2 mths and still being fed so it can't have been too bad!
