I got home today to a letter from my Fertility Specialist saying the blood tests taken at the beginning of this cycle (I'm doing monitored, stimulated IUI) show I've got Anti-k antibodies.
I haven't had a chance to discuss what the implications of this mean with my specialist but I'm curious to know, if not a little worried. The letter said that when I do become pregnant I'll be referred onto the high-risk team as my baby could develop hemolytic something-or-other.
There was no mention about the anti-k's affecting conception but can this be an issue with m/c? I've had one before and really don't want to contend with a possible cause of more IYKWIM
Dont have any answers Angie, just didnt want to read and run.
Dont start googling, god knows what you will read! You would think they would discuss those things with you rather than just send it out in a letter.
Haemolytic Disease I believe is anaemia and jaundice caused by the antibodies effecting babies red cells... that is a vague memeory from one of my pregnancy books.. I will see if I can dig it out.
