OK, so we're all go for surgery. AF arrived today, so am definitely not pregnant (Gosh. What a shock! ), and my operation is therefore next week, Tuesday 12th. The husband has done his 'sample' too, so we should know one way or the other, this time next week, how things are looking. The husband and I had the big 'if we can't do this ourselves, what options will be look at' as far as having children goes. I really needed to have that conversation, so I'm glad we did.

Still, with the op next week, I'm so hopeful ...somebody kick me?

Nice to see you Ginger, sorry I haven't emailed, been off sick.

Best of luck with the operation, and I just found out that after 2 years of trying she is pregnant! She had to have assistance to get there, but is great news!

Thanks everyone

Yes, it's endo that's being removed ...in theory. Presuming they find any when they go in! If they don't ...well. Buggered if I know!!

Yes i second the taking care thing. my second surgery I ended up with an infection in one of the cuts as I wanted to do everything myself. And my SIL went back to work the day after the op and ended back in hospital - silly girl.

Hi !!

Well, I'm back! I had the surgery last Tuesday, and they removed endo. Apparently it was grade 1, so I'm lucky ...and horrified on behalf of all women who have grades 2-4 . Ouch!

The majority of it was on my ovaries, so therein could lie our problem. Time will tell! My specialist said to me when I had my follow-up yesterday that if we're not pregnant in 3-6 months, she'll refer me onto the fertility clinic within the hospital.

The husband's fertility test was ok - he was a bit doubtful in a couple of areas (50% motility, 56% abnormal heads), but the specialist wasn't worried as he had a really good count (91 mill per ml) and she thinks that the both of us being a bit under-par would have been enough.

What else?

Oh yes ...she also thinks that I may have mild PCOS, but that because I have good strong ovulation every month, it doesn't matter a bit. I don't know the first thing about PCOS, so I'll just assume she knows that she's talking about!

OK. I think that's all ...otherwise, I'm recovering. I was back at work yesterday but taking it very easy. I'm a bit sore today - I guess because I'm not resting so much now. But, otherwise I'm ok. The husband was a gem and bought me the first season of Gilmore Girls, which I've been watching flat out ...he figured it was the only way he could think of to keep me plastered to the couch, as I was too knacked and sore to concentrate on a book

Have a fab day everyone!

i'm glad to hear the surgery went well for you ginger.
i was told the same as you after being diagnosed with PCOS after having endo removed...give it 6mths and then come back if no baby. luckily we didn't need to
i've heard you are most fertile within those 6mths after endo surgery
but as jess said, take it easy love

Yeah, the surgeon said to me on Monday that there was to be no naughty stuff this month so that I heal properly ....

oops ...

The poor husband was feeling the depprivation a bit ...he's had to hold off for his test, then I had AF, then I had the flu, then I had the surgery ...hehe. Poor boy!! I was feeling ok, and I didn't have the heart to point him in the direction of the shower ...ahem
