Hi - I have a 5 1/2 month old baby, Brooke.  I'm always trying to think up new and interesting food ideas for her.  I've spied the falafel in the fridge - it looks like baby food already haha!  Is this suitable to feed?

Ingredients are: chickpeas 31%, split green peas 31%, water, flour, lemon juice, onion flakes, coriander, parsley, garlic, sea salt, spices, preservative(202).

I would think it may give her a sore tummy due to the chick peas as these are a very "windy" food. I was told to steer clear of it while BF so I would personally not give it to my DD anytime soon because of that. Also the garlic & spices could upset her tummy too.

Yeah it may be a bit spicey! Apparently babies have lots of tastebuds too so bland food is quite tasty to them.

Hmm might wait a wee while before trying it then.  It isn't a very spicey falafel, but want to be on the safe side all the same.

Tried vege puree this morning with juices from our casserole - didn't exactly go down a treat!

Alex had felafel from quite young but prob a bit older than your bub now is. I'm a big believer in babies eating food like your own so i do give him spices in all the foods where we would have it. I do tone down the amount of chilli in his so it's very mild, but it's still there. If i wouldn't eat it then i'm not going to ask him to and babies in countries like India quite happily eat their spicy food.

Nutmeg is the only spice that some babies can react to so withhold that for a bit longer.
