ok, so i have been totally overwhelmed by the whole cloth nappy thing. im using my sisters old weenees at the moment but mack wets through and he is going to the next size up soon so i decided to buy a whole new batch. after being scared off by how comlicated the ordering system seems to be online i looked at trade me and they seem to have HEAPS of OSFA naps. im a bit sceptical, but for the price i thought id see what ppl thought of them. he is a formula bub too so no poo explosions to worry about. opinions?

It really comes down to your wee one and how he would fit those particular nappies. I personally like a sized system compared to the OSFA as I find the fit is better on my DD. I decided to spend the extra $ on a more expensive set as I plan to use them on my next baby. Also I'm assuming your DS would be going into a medium size soon which some babies actually fit until they are potty trained.
My advice would be to buy one of the nappies and see how you like it, as you may find that it works really well. I wouldn't however splash out on a set just yet in case you find they're crapola!

I think those are the bum genius copies (or maybe they are "original" without the branding...who knows). They are alright. I used BGs on Tom, till he learnt to undo velcro and loved them. The TM ones were similar but lacked stretch in the tabs so may have been earlier versions.....for the price, you cant go wrong.

Is that the Mybaby ones you're looking at? I haven't tried them, but Rachel25 loves them!
I was just perusing the Nappy Days website - I'm addicted to cloth nappy websites, its so bad! Even when I don't have the money to buy them, I just spend ages looking! Anyway, they sell a book all about MCN's targeted at the confused beginner, for $15.

So you may want to read that before you fork out money on nappies that don't work well on Mack.

awesome, thanks for the advice. he is currently in 6-12kg weenees which look ridiculous. lmao. he only has 3 too and lots of side pee leakage so i figure they gotta be better than that.

We use the bum genius OSFA. At the moment I only use them overnight as they are still too bulky during the day. The fit of them is great and haven't had any problems with leaks. She wears them for 12 hours overnight. I'd buy 1 OSFA and see how you go before forking out heaps of money.

I have a whole set of OSFA BG 3.0 and love them! Well worth the investment, although when I bought them they were $15 cheaper than they are now 
As for the knock-off ones, my cousin uses them. The only thing she has found is the gussets aren't always 100% right, but I guess if you're not getting exploding poos that may not be an issue. Also she found the velcro wasn't as good as the BG ones. Having said that, if I was to buy some more now that I already have a good quality set, I would buy the cheap ones as fill-ins. I do believe you pay for quality though. Also depends on how many kids you plan on having - I reckon for 1-2 kids then OSFA is a good way to go, otherwise sized ones are probably better value as they'll last longer. My cousin has found with the knock-off TM 'bumgenius' type ones that she'll have to get rid of a few of hers as they won't last another baby, so will end up paying the same price, if not slightly more, than I did to put 2 kids in nappies IYKWIM.

Hi Monikah We are using the Mybaby OSFA nappies off Trade Me. I just bought one to start with to try them out, and loved it! So now we have 18 of them hehe. They have domes on the front to adjust the rise, and Chelsea is still on the smallest setting (and will be for a while yet I would think) so they will fit her till she's potty trained.

baby factory and farmers also sell baby cheeks, a nz designed OSFA.
also there are yoyo nappies, another kiwi nappy and someone just posted a review in the nappy section saying how great they are.
