Hi Everyone

What tips do you have that can help with morning sickness
So people who have had it can give tips to everyone who is suffering from it at the moment.

And also would be good for the ones that get pregnant and would like to know what can help.

Because that was one of the annoying things that i found when i was pregnant was the Morning sickness. And wished someone would have told me what i could have taken.

Blackmores Morning Sickness Tablets worked for me as did Seabands for a few weeks.

or, you know, anybody who needs it could just use the site's search function and read any of the 25+ threads that already exist on the topic...

OR, you could use the time you took to write that, to say something constructive instead.    Sure, topics are rehashed all the time, sometimes there are fresh ideas and perspectives each time it's done.

Anyway, a combination of blackmores morning sickness pills and seabands helped me a lot.   Along with bland food, salty crackers, eating little and often and having a little snack before bedtime and as soon as I woke up. It can differ for everyone though, during my last pregnancy I drank litres and litres of milk because it was the only thing that made me feel better.

Keeping hydrated and eating lemonade iceblocks can sometimes keep that gaggy feeling at bay.

Sorry for being abrupt Oxy23 - blame it on me having AF for the first time in 20 months!

But I do have to say that I think when I took the time to do a search and provide a link to the results I was being constructive! And for future reference learning to use the search function on here is actually quite useful - you can access the collective wisdom of several years worth of threads too.

ETA: and all of Renee's suggestions are good ones, although unfortunately sometimes nothing works

I apologise too, I didn't mean to sound so rude!

I'll blame that on preggy hormones! I'm not usually so blunt.

And yeah, unfortunately sometimes NOTHING at all works and you just have to power through and realise that it eventually does end and the end result is totally worth it.

I have a novel thing that worked....only in first pregnancy though

Wake up, feel sick, screw eating anything, go to toilet, stick fingers down throat, hurl, wipe face, feel much better & then repeat the next morning & the next morning ......... counteracted scoffing whopper burgers which also helped.

Lol Aliasmum! I found eating crackers just before I got up helped, didn't seem very appertising at the start, but I never threw up. Though in saying that murphy's law I'll get chronically ill with this one lol.

I found eating small amounts and regularly helped me. Also Ginger and B6 worked well. On my really bad days I had Maxalon, which often made me feel worse

Yea, vomiting first thing in the morning helped me, but it always just happened. I got up and went about my day (sometimes gagging before I even got out of bed, often in the shower, or straight out of the shower). I wouldn't eat anything at all until I'd gagged and vomited, because it was so much easier.

Actually vomitting helped me too - most days. I can't remember whether I read the suggestion on here but I would sometimes have a nice big glass of room temp water as soon as I woke up because at least then I had something to throw up (and it didn't hurt as much as just throwing up bile).

Eating little and often made things slightly more bearable here. And later (once it had mostly subsided) I used Blackmores tablets and seabands for a notoriously bad ferry crossing and only felt a *tiny* bit sick. So would recommend giving those a try too

Ive just started taking healtheries ginger and lemon tea, and no vomiting today!! I also use seabands and have had something prescribed from my GP which I only take on really bad days when I am at work.

I had a wonderful drug called Zofran which was the only thing that helped with Jake. This time round I've found lots of sleep and lots of water has helped. Can't keep the blackmores tabs down ATM so while I have them I haven't had a chance to see how they work. I have one seaband (found the other one yet Kel?? LOL) and that helps with the nausea. Sometimes chucking it all up helps but then other days the early vomit only sets me up for a days worth of it (like today ). Can't wait til it goes away completely!!!

I found vomiting first thing in the morning helped too, but only in later weeks/months. In the first 3-4 mths it didn't matter whether I spewed first or not, I pretty much spent the day with my head in the sink anyway.
