What does your 3(ish) year olds day look like? We used to do quite a few fun things but Elle is no longer interested in anything. We try painting, drawing, baking, lego, playdoh, going to the park etc etc and she isn't interested in ANY of them. Since we did our renovations, all she wants to do is stay home and watch TV (which I restrict) or play imaginary games with her toys. The imaginary games involve her making all kinds of voices and getting the toys to talk and go on adventures...she plays them on her own and doesn't really want anyone else to join in.
We used to make robots, houses etc with blocks but now she just wants to break things or throw the pieces.
I'm finding the days loooong at the moment and am not sure how to engage her into doing fun things again. It's like she no longer has the concentration for anything constructive...
I can't remember if she goes to any pre school or kindy? Could she be ready for that if not?
Could you try to extend the imaginery play to different types of play by setting out different things eg supermarket, making a bus with chairs , puppets etc.
What about setting up craft activities with things from the $2 shop eg coloured feathers, stickers, glitter.
i say if she is fine playing with her toys on her own and using her imagination then let her be... you could occasionally suggest an activity - like play do etc - but i wouldnt worry... imaginative play is supposed to be very healthy and good for them...
