DH has a collegue with a young one the same age as ours, and they have just found out that they are expecting twins!! So they are going to be very busy people very soon!!

DH was asking what sort of practical gift we could get them, so thought I would ask the twin mummies on here what the most practical / useful / thoughtful present that they received was?

It sounds lame but the best gifts we got were bibs, nappies and formula! We were going through 20-30 bibs a day at the start. Not to mention all the nappies and formula. If you want to give something practical I'd go down that road. We actually got given way too many clothes. I sold a bulk lot of clothes on trade me all NB and Prem sizes a massive 40 items were never even worn once!

I second nappies, my girls were going thru a box of Huggies a week in the early weeks and even tho we switched to cloth, it was still good to have a supply of sposies on hand.

As for thoughtful, how about something for the new mum-to-be, my aunty bought me chocolates and bath goodies after I had the gremlins and it was so nice to have someone remembering ME with all the baby chaos.

And practical stuff - maybe offer to babysit, either for the twins or their other wee one?

Supermarket vouchers! Or warehouse vouchers as you can buy nappies etc there.

I always give a packet of nappies, a box of wipes and a packet of nappy bags to my new parent friends, and they are always chuffed- everyone always says they get too many clothes.

Either that or I buy 9mth+ clothes that they will grow into.
