I can't seem to find anything that says I can or cannot give kiwifruit.

We had some kiwifruit and apples left over and I have steamed them with a couple of raspberries we had in the freezer and apart from it possibly being too tasty to give him, do I need to sieve out the pips/seeds?

I would have thought the little black seeds were too small to choke on, but don't know

any thoughts?

Plunket do not recommend kiwifruit until 8 or 9 months. But you know your baby best, and he seems to handle it fine, then it shouldn't be a problem

Caden started having some kiwifruit at 7 1/2 months, and the little pips were fine, he just swallowed them. However, he had MAJOR poo explosions after he ate it and I only ever gave him a little bit at a time, so I stopped giving it to him. Will start again after he is one and is tummy is a bit more used to things like that.

One of the times to be careful about Kiwifruit it that it quite acidic. When I first gave it to Ella she came out in the rash of her face and the pharmacist thought it was because the acid from the kiwifruit reacted to her skin. She has only recently tried it again, and I was very careful to wash her face staight after she had eaten. It is the only food she has ever reacted to. Daycare also mentioned that they prefer not to give it to the kids, as it does make for very yucky nappies.

I think Kiwifruit in 8-9 months too. I gave my bubs avocado and I had explosions - she got sent home from daycare for a yucky nappy - but I think it was the avocado and banana she hoed it down!

Yeah that's the only thing about kiwifruit is the nappies. That's why plunket recommends you wait a few more months but I think if it is only a small amount you should be ok. Be careful only to give very ripe kiwifruit though cause it can be quite acidic.
