I had a wax appt this morning. About 20 minutes in, I started to feel quite hot and uncomfortable. Then within minutes I was all sweaty. I started to feel really sick and dizzy, like I was going to pass out. We stopped at this point and opened the door to cool down etc. After sitting up and having some water I was fine in another 5 minutes and we were able to contine (had no choice as I had waxed my legs and other parts together )

ANyway, I have never had this before and it was really scary, I assume it is pregnancy related.

Any ideas why this happend? I feel A OK now....just embarrassed.

Were you lying on your back? That can sometimes happen as your heavy uterus presses down on the huge blood vessels going up your back and so less oxygen gets to your brain.

Otherwise it could of been low blood pressure/sugar. You did the right thing and is nothing abnormal.

yeah I was on my back, but didn't think that that was the prob at the time as I am sometimes still sleeping on my back with no problems. But I guess if the baby changes position... There was a lot of wriggling quite low right before it happend too.

eh...what a horrible feeling, will be staying on my side from now on!

I would say its because you were on your back, and those beds you get waxed on are not the most comfy lol.
Cos bubs is a lot bigger now, she would have been pressing on the nerve in your spine which can make you feel sick and dizzy.
I get like that if Ive been lying on my back on the couch or I wake up in the night on my back, I'll all of a sudden feel really sick and dizzy and have to sit up and shut my eyes for a while and have some water.

Maybe next time you get waxed ask if you can be propped up a bit more with some pillows or something?

I get like bthat on the sofa sometimes too, if I'm lying on my back. Not so much sick, just this horrid feeling like my whole upper body is being compressed and I start feeling very faint. I shift very quickly! Only been happening the past couple of weeks.

Exactly the same thing happened to a friend of mine at a waxing appt.

It sounds like its the lying on your back thing.
Get propped up during the next appt and make sure you have something to eat before the appt.

Was it one of those heated beds they use? I wouldn't imagine they make you feel any better if you feel sick.
