There is a nasty 24hour tummy bug going around my sons daycare. My friends & there kids all have got it and Im really really worried that if i get it can it affect the baby since I am only just under 8 weeks so am still in that very vunerable danger zone
Does anyone know if tummy bugs can affect the fetus the same as listeria etc?? Am gonna DR Google it but if anyone else has any knowledge.........
Obviously i hope i dont get it, and my son is normally pretty good at bypassing the bugs hes very healthy and doesnt get as many as my friends kids get so lets hope this time is the same..........FX

There are very few viruses which can cross the placenta (listeria is one) so things like flu and tummy bugs just make the mum sick and bubs is fine. Make sure you keep your fluids up though as you don't want to get dehydrated.
Cool thanks Littlestar...........hopefully it wont get that far cos it doesnt sound pretty...........but if i do at least i wont be stressing that I might lose the baby and can just focus on getting better!!!!
