Is Daniel old enough for oats for breakfast?? He can't eat wheat so the normal baby cereal for over 8 months is out as it is full of wheat.

Why can't he eat wheat, he's not gluten intolerant is he? Otherwise I think he'd be fine with oats. Or soggy cornflakes.

I always had problem with wheat but not so much with gluten. I tried him on some wheat flakes and he vomited everywhere so I"m just assuming its just the wheat but guess we'll find out when I try him on the oats tomorrow.

He has the farx fruit porriage but its quite expensive for a little box!

I've been giving Clara porridge for breakfast too - I just make it the way I've always made it, with water, but then I add some EBM on top, when it's cooked.

I've just made it with water. The only annoying thing is waiting for it to cool down! I don't add anything afterwards although I probably would have if Ollie hadn't enjoyed it as is.

Actually I haven't had porridge for ages and I've just been making enough for both of us - so the water version isn't too bad

Good luck with the oats first.

DD had a bad skin reaction to oats at about the same age. I kept her totally off gluten until after her first birthday and she is fine now.

bubbas can react to some things (eg vomit after eating) because it is just too much of a new thing. I had this with egg because I gave her too much to start with. A few months later (on drs advice) I started her on little bits and she was fine.
