I need to get some weigh on Alia. She hasn't really regained her weight she lost when she was sick at Xmas time & with winter coming up she needs FAT.
I struggle to get food into her at school & I need to give her something that is either a meal replacement or a good fat builder that I can add in to her day, say as arvo tea?
What have you found your kids liked?

What about a complan milkshake, you can add fresh fruit to it aswell, like a banana or some fresh berries to make it yummy and use full fat milk obviously!
Just a thought.....

Yeah was thinking complan, didn't think of adding fruit.
Need other options incase she doesn't like that, but the fruit might sway it.

I love complan so highly recommend it. You could try contacting Watties and ask for a sample of each of the flavours so she can try them out.
I don't have anymore ideas though, sorry

will she eat avocado? Some avocado on crackers would be good - lots of good fats in that. Some kids love it, some not so much!

I'd ring wellchild line and get their advice. My hunch is that you want to build protein rather than fat. Complan is a great way to do this - smoothies and milkshakes often go down well. Rich egg based desserts are good (e.g. crumble with custard).

What about those milk cartons that you can have for breakfast? I can't remember what they are called. Oh wait a minute I remember, up and go. Not sure how much protein they have though you would have to have a look, but they might be good to pack with her lunch for her to have at school.

Definitely doesn't like avocado.
She drank chocolate complan this arvo much to my surprise. Mind you I stood there with her in the kitchen & said drink!
She is not a sweet tooth which is half my problem as she's doesn't fill up on the usual stuff.
Marisa, she has had them but doesnt drink them.

Nuts??
I have weight gain issues & it sux. Maybe a trip to the Doc just to make sure there are no underlying medical problems. Zinc defincey can cause lack of appetite. I would stay clear of artificial supplements & would possibly count her calouries over severals days so then you know weather she is getting enough or the opposite, getting enough but not absorbing it. Some high cal foods are: Nuts, pasta, dried fruits & high cal veg like peas, corn, potato & kumera also veg & fruit drinks. And the usual, having a healthy diet with food from the 5 food groups. Exersise also helps (as silly as it seems) as muscle is heavier than fat. it will help with weight gain & increase her appetitie
