*Sigh*.

I have got my first AF since stopping breast feeding. Despite saying, just the other day, that my pelvic floor muscles were fine... now I think otherwise.

So, I went to put a tampon in, and it didn't really work. Everything just felt in the wrong place. And the tampon will not stay in. So, I had a wee looksie with a mirror and everything just looks very, very wrong.

Could this be some sort of prolapse? I am not generally in any discomfort, but special cuddles have been uncomfortable and not really enjoyable.

I am feeling a bit miserable and broken. Anyone experienced anything similar? Anyone know what my options are?

I think you should go to the Dr & have your fufu checked!! If you've been feeling some discomfort then something maybe out of place..... I hope you get some answers....

I have to say that when my 1st AF came back last week, my tampon felt funny too, but it stayed in and no leaks so didn't think much about it. Wasn't sore though, the whole area just "felt" odd IYKWIM.

TMI

I just didn't wear a tampon for the first 3 AF, just use a pad. And special cuddles are not what they used to be pre-baby. sometimes uncomfortable, but not as much fun (I didn't have an orgasm until 5 and a half months after, and that's the only one I've had) If in doubt, have the doc check you out (from memory you should have a smear done at the 6 month mark anyway so maybe kill 2 birds with one stone?).

I left it for a cycle before going onto tampons again. My periods come back early so everything can still feel somewhat swollen down there. Is that what things feel like for you? With a prolapse your cervix basically falls outside of your v-jay so that you can see it easily.

Well, it hasn't fallen out! But it just feels very gapy and open. I just assumed that was normal until now. However, when I look, I can see my cervix near the entrance, which is in a different spot... I guess... to where I think it should be. And surely if it is not in the right spot I won't be able to get pregnant again?!?

I'll definately see my doc when AF is over. Good point about the smear.

I got my AF back really early (beginning of Feb) and it was WAY heavy.
What I found with tampons was that they ended up 'turning' around - really weird!
So have continued in earnest the exercises to try and 'tighten' everything up. Hopefully that helps.
But like others have said, I would go and get it all checked out with the doc so you can find out for sure if anything is up.

I haven't gone near tampons since, just didn't feel right.

I would get it checked with a Dr since special cuddles are sore though.

Yep also must remember to get a smear myself, have been saying that for a week or so now, will book it and get it done.

I'm there with you Laurie, that's a fine description of my own vjj. Like everything is hanging really low. I can't see my cervix but I can feel that it is way down there with the rest.
I asked my mw about it as I didn't think it was right either and she said everything looked fine but I didn't believe her, she also said that prolapses are very unusual for first babies. Pfft, doesn't mean they don't happen though!
In my limited research, it seems you just have to do millions and millions of pelvic floor exercises for the rest of your life and you can have surgery to fix it but only when you have finished having babies. So I guess that is saying you can still get pregnant.
I will be VERY interested to hear what your dr says. Seems I have a hard time getting any professionals to look at my bits (long tedious story).
Ew, I didn't know about the 6 month smear! I had one not long before I got preggy!

Will get the doc to look. Just wanna make sure I can have bubbies again!

Gutted I can't wear a tampon though. I HATE pads with a deadly passion. And ew, it seems to be making such a mess. I despise that damp feeling. Ew ew ew.

Can't wait to get it checked! Who would think you'd ever WANT to go for an internal?!?!?

I'm so glad I read this thread, I've had an IUD fitted so AF is VERY heavy and lasts extra long and I also HATE pads but when I try and wear a tampon I can feel it. Its as if its fallen out a bit, so I decided I must just be extra loose but am so glad thats normal lol.

You might have a wee prolapse Laurie but they are easily fixed if you do your pelvic floor exercises. I had one, a cystocele, with Dominic and had Isobelle just fine only 18mths later. Only bummer (no pun intended!) is that having Isobelle made it come back & its worse now .

I was like that after Tom...but also really uncomfy.  My MW told me it was possibly a prolapse and to do pelvic floor.  I did a few...not many...eventually it came right.  <y pelvic flooor was weak during my last pregnancy but not uncomfy.  All feels great now

Eeek, I haven't tried using tampons since having lil miss (haven't had a chance, I've only had one AF and it was really light) but when I used them after I had the gremlins they did feel odd the first few times. Now I'm scared to try again coz after 4 babies, I no longer HAVE any pelvic floor muscles!
